Right now I have a DD-6 but I want something with more delay capabilites like the LINE 6 DL4. The problem is, I hear that the DL4 can be very unreliable. Some people have no problems, while others have a lot of problems, especially with the loop sampler.
I ALWAYS read the product reviews at harmony-central.com and there are a LOT of complaints about this DL4's reliability.
So what I'm wondering is:
What are some good, RELIABLE, alternatives to the DL4 without getting more pricey??? |

I have a DL-4 and have no problems with it, except that one of the buttons came unscrewed and fell into the pedal. also if you have two lines in the inputs, the normal delays, (not the looping) are quieter for some reason, this might just be a flaw with mine, but its not that big of a deal.
anyway, the other option is the Boss RC-20 Loop Station.
Can loop up to 5 mins and 30 seconds of stuff, price is between 200 - 300, about the same as the dl4, but it is only for loooping, no other delay stuff in it. |
Remember, turn off your tv. Read. |

Interesting.
Well I want delay. I like functions like REVERSE and that 14s to 28second thing on the DL4. As well, I like that you can stop and start the loop with the dl4 |

Check out the Akai E1 Headrush. I love that thing. It has digital delay (up to 23.8 seconds) and tape delay (up to 5.9 seconds) with a four head output option. I actually split the signal between two amps and it sounds great. Plus, you can do an infinite number of loops under 11.9 seconds, and a single loop for 23.8 seconds, both of which you can start and stop. I only paid about $150 for mine too, so for the price, I think it does a great job. The only problem is I don't think they make them anymore, but I have seen remaining units for about the same price. |

Lot's of things to check out. First the Lexicon Jam Man and all there rack stuff they have out is really great with delay and looping stuff. http://www.lexiconpro.com/products/products-pro.asp#processors Check out the MPX 110.
Then I'd really take a good look at the Digi Tech GNX3 guitar workstation. http://www.digitech.com/products/gnx3.htm It's got looping and a ton of effects plus 8 track recording. Basically it looks pretty cool.
I have the Line 6 and I've never had a problem in the 1 1/2 years I've owned mine. It works great. It's probably one of the cheapest pedals you will find for delay and looping besides the Boss pedals. You already have a DD-6 though. I reccomend the Line 6 but if you are willing to spend more money check out the Digi Tech Pedal just because it's all that you want and more. |

How much does that digi tech go for?
Also, I do have a DD-6, but i would consider selling it to afford something better. |

I think it's like a $400 dollar pedal. I almost forgot about the Giga Delay, but I'm somewhat confused about it. It has 23 seconds of delay so does that mean you have the ability to do 23 seconds of loop? If so that looks pretty cool. |

Well theres some info about it here:
http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/DD-20/index.html
Looking at the pictures of it, it appears that it has a hold feature, which I think is called Sound On Sound. One of the modes is called "SOS" and I can only assume it stands for Sound On Sound. And there is an Overdub indicator as well. I'm thinking this pedal is like the Boss version of the Line 6 DL4, but with more delay time.
