That's how long I was quoted for having my car detailed. Granted, they do a thorough job...but the guy took one look at the interior of my car and said "oh boy". Nothing like dropping your car off at 7:30 in the morning on a Saturday and paying $100 to do it. I guess considering what they have to deal with, it's well worth the $$$.

They just better not mess with the Tim signature under my hood =).

wow, eight hours to just to the interior of the car?

Well that is that and this is this.
Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed, when the ocean met the sky.
You missed when time and life shook hands and said goodbye.
When the earth folded on itself.
And said "Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath."

You definitely need to show before and after pictures of that... allthough I spend that kind of time on my car too so I can understand if the guy takes his time.

detailing your car, as in cleaning the inside?? now... if that's the case... what the hell did you do to the inside of your car that would take 8 hours to clean!! That said, I realize that professionals in the field really scrub away at everything... but, 8 hours?!

OK I'm dumb, I thought Detailing was only the funky painting, lines whatever on the outside of a car. Guess not.

By detailing I mean cleaning the entire interior/exterior.

A quick summary of things found in my car with a 2 minute inspection:

1.) Hair. I don't know whose hair, but there's plenty of it. I have a mustang so my back seat is incredibly small and rarely has occupants, but whoever was back there shed like a dog.

2.) A piece of candy of a particular type stuck to the floor that I know I haven't had in that car in almost 2 years.

3.) Dust/sand/dirt. A ridiculous amount of dust over everything, it's hard to breathe. I go to the beach pretty regularly, so there's sand in almost every crevice. The floor mats have rocks/dirt/grime as do the seats/dash/etc.

4.) More miscellaneous burned CDs than you can imagine. I'm not in the habit of keeping/labelling them. There's probably 50-100 burned CDs in my car without a single label on any of them. Half of them are scratched to hell and back.

5.) Tobacco leaves. Occaisionally when I pull a cigarette out of a well packed pack, a few errant tobacco leaves will fall out. Apparently I'm going to die of lung cancer (God forbid), as my door handle alone had about 1/2 cm of them.

6.) Cologne. An entire bottle of cologne apparently spilled on my rear passenger floor mats some time ago. How I didn't smell that is beyond me.

7.) DVD Cases. My entire back seat is practically invisible right now from all of the DVD cases piled on it. I have a case with all of my DVDs in it, and for some reason I never took the actual cases out of my car.

8.) Letters/miscellanous paper. Letters from ex-girlfriends, current girlfriend, my original birth certificate was found, about 40 concert tickets, receipts dating back to 2002, bank statements, cell phone bills, straw rappers, fast food packages, those things you put on your dash to show that you paid to park somewhere, 15-20 miscellaneous photographs...including, but not limited to my autographed picture of Katie Holmes (::longing sigh::).

9.) Miscellaneous. Radar detector that doesn't work, 3-4 hockey pucks and 2 hockey sticks. Rollerblades/ice skates. A full set of hockey pads. A bowling ball, yes a bowling ball. I have no idea whose it is or how it got there, or how I failed to realize it was there, but it is. Tennis racket/2-3 tennis balls. My old florida license plate. A dustbuster that runs on 12V power (never used). 2 decks of cards. 300 poker chips. A box for an XBox. A box for a K&N Filtercharger. The factory car stereo (since replaced). Three amplifier boxes, 3 amplifiers. Last but not least, two bottles of aspirin.

10.) A parking ticket from last year. Oops.

I'm a friggin slob.

LOL, it's actually a decent sized trunk for the size of the car. It's bigger than the back seat, in some peoples' opinion. I have the rear seats folded down most of the time so I can put hockey sticks in. Half the time I have to dodge something to get to the shifter. The trunk itself is basically entire full and efficiently packed. The interior of the car is almost, but not quite full. I had to start storing things up near my rear window. I have a GPS receiver on the rear speaker deck of my car and someTIMes it loses signal when things shift around. I have to take turns at about 5 mph to prevent chaos.

I didn't get it done yet, scheduled for next saturday at 7:30 am ::sigh::. I was just looking through it last night because there's a lot of surface stuff I have to clean out before I get this all done. That's when I found my future wife's picture =).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I am cleaning out the "office/computer" room in my house and I thought I had a lot of junk in here, but damn James, your car had more crap in it than my room did!

You have serious collecting issues! LOL

How much does it cost? I'm getting railed for about $100. Granted, I wouldn't do it if someone paid me $100...so I guess it's all relative.

You suck at having a car.

I also like how you sucked your battery dry at SPAC in the parking lot.

BTW, are you working the day of Darien (tuesday)? If not we'll have to meet up to tailgate again. Good times.

Yeah, I'm reallly not on the ball lately. The battery dying wasn't my fault, I told my friend to start my car when I crossed the street to meet up with someone and he never did. Plenty of jumper cables to be found though =).

Yeah, I'm working tomorrow...no tailgaiting for me. I'll probably have to fly just to get to the concert on time, knowing the way traffic is on the night of a Dave show. They need a new traffic engineer out there...that one lane in, one lane out crap is ridiculous.
