Has anyone heard these guys? They play metal covers and originals on four cellos. I think they are really great. They have covered Metallica, Sepultura, Slayer and others. There originals are also really good.
Sounds kewl, I think I have heard of them before, but never heard them. Has anyone heard of the Greene String Quartet? They do interesting covers like Guns & Roses. I also mentioned something on a similar note in another thread:
Rondellus Sabbatum(a CD of Black Sabbath covers played on 16th century instruments and sung in Latin, well worth a listen but not for everyones tastes)

Nope, have not heard of 3rd Eye Open. What style do they do the covers in, or are they just standard covers? What type of instrumentation?

I gave two copies of Metallica on Four Cellos for Christmas. I bought one over Amazon so it was easy to find. The other was for my neighbor, and I put off buying it until Christmas Eve morning. I looked at Best Buy, Wherehouse (2), and finally found it at Tower. I was very impressed with the customer service there; they actually went in back and dug it out of a box for me.
