I got the audio for the Dreaming Tree (by far my favorite DMB song, it has Tim AND Greg on it, lol). Tim really adds a much more painful feel and fullness in the middle jam before the chorus. I miss that from the times DMB has played it live in the last 5 years without Tim. And I like a medium sized "tomater", not the lumpy ones, not the tiny small round ones, the ones that are "just right". |

So where exactly is this webcast? When you say On Demand, do you mean the PPV channel on cable tv?
Here is a picture I saw today on Rolling Stone's website:

Ha ha ha. I just thought that. I like the look of the longer hair on him. |

Me too. One more thing that he can do that I can't: grow his hair out. If I grow mine out it gets curly and looks like shit. |

My Mom prefers him with short hair, but I always love long hair.
. . . I guess that's a first, a mother and son discusses Tim's hair styles. |

Tim's using a glass slide. I don't think I've seen that before. |

I'd hardly say it "features" me, LOL but I do make an BRIEF appearance. |

Out of necessity. LOL and prolly not again. I was going to write about that in my review when I get around to it but this seems as good a TIMe as any to mention the use of the glass slide. Well we arrived onsite and TR informed me that he had forgotten to pack a slide. Apparently he had used it the weekend before at the TR3 gig and the slide was packed in his Flying V case which he had obviously left at home. So, I figured with all these slide players around this day it shouldn't be to hard an item to locate. Turned out to be a bit harder than I thought but eventually I contacted Derek Trucks directly and explained how TR had forgotten his and would love to borrow one. Derek graciously offered to supply the much needed item and told me to grab one from his guitar tech who happened to be sitting right behind him in the artist lounge area. He had overheard the conversation and took the opportunity to mess with me a bit and started to think and ponder what he would want in exchange for saving the day. He arrived at a Peach Ice Tea Snapple. I assured him I would do my best to acquire said item for him even though I didn't get the feeling he was serious. He pulled out the slide and I recoiled and said, "ewwww, TR usually uses a chrome slide. You wouldn't have one of those would you?" His answer, "Sorry, no, Derek only uses glass." I told him I would check with TR an see if we could make it work for lack of any other option. I headed back to the bus and presented the slide to TR who had the same reaction I had. LOL I told him that if he preferred I could keep trying to locate a chrome slide and he said to let him give it a try. He grabbed his guitar and went over a few licks and decided "Wow, this is pretty good. It works better than most glass ones I have used. I think I can make this work. No worries. In fact, can you find out who makes it, I really like the way it feels." So, relieved, I gave up my quest. Now onto the new quest, find the Snapple. I wandered to all the tents in the entire festival and noone was selling Snapple. I went to catering and inquired if they had any tucked away that I could grab to repay a debt. A resounding "sorry, NO." Just when I thought all my options had been exhausted I ran into one of the security guys from the T&D Hamptons gig who asked what I was doing. I told him the story about the Snapple and slide and he said he had a friend who was a runner for the day and on one of his runs he could pick some up for me. A few hours later a bag of Peach Ice Tea Snapple was delivered to door of Dave's bus for me and I began the time consuming task of locating the guitar tech, Dave, to present him with his booty. I finally found him onstage in the guitar area and he seemed shocked and genuinely surprised that I had actually come thru on my promise. So that is why TR is playing a glass slide instead of chrome one. Ironically, after the gig I asked TR if we should hang onto the glass slide and he said it worked fine on the bus but that it wasn't loud enuf once he had tried it onstage. He also laughed and said that for whatever reason he and inadvertently tried it on his ring finger on the bus and remembers putting it on for the first TIMe onstage and thinking "What the hell happened to this thing?" He usually plays with it on his pinky finger. Suddenly it seemed alot bigger. LOL Today we bought 2 new chrome slides before the gig and TR was soooo happy. |

HAHA! Great story, Fluffy.
I had also noticed how HUGE it was on his finger. I thought, "That's weird, I don't think Tim has ever played a GIANT glass slide before!"
It still sounded kick ass though! |
