The TR camp won't know until the DM camp decides, so just keep checking dmband.com. |

I would assume no at this point. With all this time, something should be known by now. Since we have only hope thrown up in the air, and Tim's dates are set or being set for this year, I don't think it's going to happen. |

He is no one that knows any more than anyone else here. If you look, he was only a member for less than 2 years and only ~600 posts.
To answer your question, no one here knows what TR does outside of his own tours. In the past, if he did shows with Dave, they were advertised as such.
I doubt he will be joining Dave as I would think they would have to advertise it as a Dave/TR tour (or shows) like they have in the past. It would be unprofessional to just show up like that as people pay for the show as advertised. That does not mean that guests can't show up for different concerts, but that normally only happens for only a show not a whole tour.
My point: Your guess is as good as anyone elses. Sorry this is no real help to you.
If you have tickets for one of Dave's European shows, I am sure you will not be disappointed, unless of course, you are expecting TR to show up too. |

Yes I do agree with your reasoning there. The only reason I could think that Tim's name be left off the advertising is so as to not confuse the European public, what with DM(and band) trying to start a bit of a following over here. |

From how DM has conducted tours in the past, he wouldn't have kept Tim's name off the tour this long. I doubt it would confuse a public. If they don't know who Dave Matthews is, it won't matter if it says Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. |

Hi - I'm new to this site.
Could it be that Dave - in case Tim is joining the tour - doesn't mention him in a way to try and avoid too many americans at the shows?? Dave seemed pretty annoyed at "yelling yanks" (no offense) at last years european solo concerts...

Hmmm... could it be?????? Should we hire a psychic?? Did you read the previous posts? If it's gonna happen you'll know it if you frequent this site. Better yet buy your ticket, and if TR ends up being there it's a win-win! Peace, Robin (Yes, yes, I am truly snotty and sarcastic today) |

Sorry about that, dave talk over here sometimes agitates people. Please don't take it personaly. Just be glad you aren't on all those other dmb forums. I have and I will never go back to them, lol!
Really though, stick around, this is a nice board as boards come. And mainly if there is any disagreements, it's either jokes or serious disscusions/debates (where it's ideas being thrown, not beer bottles like at dmb forums ). |

We're not trying to be short with you, it's just we literally do not know. So all of the thoughts and ideas are simple conjecture, to be neither fully confirmed nor fully written off. Tim's got tour dates in March which would make the Euro tour highly unlikely, but the only one who frequents the board with a steady stream of reliable TR tour information is Fluffy. Even then, sometimes Fluffy doesn't receive information until things happen.
As for you comment about keeping Americans away, Americans flock to Dave Matthews like flies to shit (or moths to a flame, if you prefer). Tim's presence is merely incidental. The majority go for DM in any form. While some of us on the board might go just to see TR, we would also more likely than not be the quieter ones in the audience.
Shortly, DM="yelling yanks".

i don't get it. these two gentlemen asked a simple question. this is the shit i'm talking about when i say "you guys are pricks to dave matthews fans." and you can defend against that statement all you like, but it won't matter, because the evidence is before you. instead of saying "we don't know for sure, but probably not." you have to be smarmy and insufferable. i'm pointing directly at you, robin and jsemon. you know why people think tim reynolds fans are snobs and jerks? because a lot of people here can't give an honest question an honest answer to someone new who asks about tim reynolds in connection with dave matthews. i know you probably resent it, but a lot of people know about tim reynolds through dmb and there is, in fact, a relationship between those two entities.

Reason why Tim wouldn't be on the bill:
Dave's management probably wanted Europeans to be the ones to see Dave in Europe. If they billed the concert at D&T, many, many more Americans would travel oversees to see Dave with Tim, as opposed to DM solo.
Tim is a God and I guess we'll all find out in a day or two.
By the way, Fluffy came on the dmb board a while back and said he asked Tim. Tim said there was a very good chance he would be in Europe with Dave. I can link the post if you'd like. |

sound reasoning, i suppose. but i think it would have more to do with their respective schedules more than anything. they both play a lot of places (except albany, new york or anywhere in the berkshires for tim reynolds. i think he's allergic to us.) |

there's a hole in tim's schedule during dave's solo tour so there would be no conflicts.
also, the 2005 bridge school benefit performance was billed as Dave solo. It ended up being D&T with no further announcement. |

I still think fluffy would have said something already. An american touring in europe is different than just touring in the US. You have to have passports, papers, cards, this and that, that and this, that and this and that, that and this and that and this, and so on. So, I am sure we would have known something by now if there was a possibility. |

Sorry guys someone just posted this on ants:
"for those attending the european shows, Tim Reynolds is over there with Dave, my friend sent me an email from UK:
I have arrived in the UK. The best present was that Mr. Dave Matthews himself was on our flight from London to Newcastle and he sat in our row! So on my first day here I had my picture taken with him. Tim 'Reynolds was with him too so I am assuming they will be playing together. Dave was great, we were good too and did not bother him after the pictures except for some signatures. What a great start to our trip! Hope all is well with all of you!"
Tim will be there. sorry you can't accept it.
I just saw that someone linked the page |

actually, that's false, and a quick glance at what is actually on the board will indicate that you're either lying or don't remember what you posted. i'm a reasonable man, so i'm going to say you're not a liar, but you just forgot. let me show you:
Posted - 01/31/2007 : 02:25:11 AM "NO"
Posted - 02/18/2007 : 2:19:02 PM "NO" (in large bold font)
and then you started in on the whole "do you not know who i am" thing. so, while a case could be made that you were being a prick from the beginning by replying to a simple question with one word in caps, i'm going to again give you the benifit of the doubt and assume it was an accident. but there can be no mistake: the large font no was you being a bitch. even giving you the benifit of the doubt twice, you were still an asshole after one post. |

hahaha. i'd be willing to bet jesus had a temper. i'd be pretty pissed if i knew the people i would save through my suffering and death would be the cause of those things. remember that time at the temple, where he kicked everyone's ass? i bet that was like a weekly occurance. |

they did flog him, put a crown of thorns on his head, nail him to some wood and poke him with a spear. i believe it's safe to say he suffered. if you accept the interpretations of any canonical bible you have to accept that, although he was divine, he was also human. not like a demi-god, but rather 100% god and 100% human. when he took on the flesh, he took on the flesh's burdens, and some might call that jesus's real sacrifice. |

Personally my respect level for both Tim and Dave went down a notch if this one's true. I am not big on musicians jerking their fans around like that. Either they are playing together or not, but if they are, it should have been advertised as such. Being famous is no excuse for being rude. I wonder what Dave's definition of "SOLO" is?
They wonder how rumors get started, well, damnit, if you are going to do things like that, expect rumors.........oh I get it, thats the whole purpose, speculation, and rumors. Jerk the fans around and watch them talk! Bullshit, pure bullshit, and believe me, I WOULD tell them to their face because that just isn't right!

This hasn't been advertised as a solo tour, it has been advertised as "an acoustic evening with Dave Matthews". It would have made no sense for Dave to share the billing with his backing musician, when the purpose of the tour is to break Dave Matthews in Europe. |

You are right, I was wrong, TR is back-up, I still think the way it was presented (or not presented) sucked for people here who could have made a trip to see "them" play together. Next time I visit this site and see a newbie asking about something like this, I am pleading the fifth. |

Im a lil upset too that it wasnt better announced also, but thats only because I am kicking myself in the ass for not being out there to see some more shows. Dave has a loyal following out there but not huge. Infact when I was over there last spring for the UK tour people were actually asking "who's dave matthews" Even waiting in line at the venues, there was a good following of fans, but lots more people would be walking by wondering who the hell the concert was for. Even Dave commented about it at the Manchester show. The venues were small for the solo tour, and I heard all of these are going to be a bit bigger. Dave does need to get a bigger foothold over in europe, and what better way to amaze the shit out of people then with perhaps one of the best acoustic shows ever... with TR. Everyone I met out there last time wanted TR there and he wasn't. Now that it's talked about he is there, everyone who is going to the shows out there is beyond stoked.
True on the fact more D and T (that I can not go to) means less TR shows, but there will be more recording coming out which is a plus and who know maybe TR might get inspired by something over there and come back with some good stuff, who knows, thats just my piece of mind about it. I truely hope people from this board are going though, and I hope they enjoy it too. |

Until I hear a review of the first show I really don't want to say much. I will say that TR was getting on a plane the other day for Europe to do the gigs but why the DMB camp has chose to remain completely silent about it astonishes me. I am inclined to agree with the folks who think they want to push Dave. I don't think they are trying to slight TR but I think that they don't see the upside to advertising or possible confusing folks with TR's addition since Dave is so lesser known over there. TR too for that matter. Don't know if they wanted to keep US fans away or not, really not sure of the thinking at all. Just speculating. I am sorry I couldn't break the news to all of you but TR has a relationship with Dave and DMB camp and I have to respect his and their wishes. Hope you won't all hold it against me, just doing my job. I really hoped that the DMB camp would release the info at some point but for whatever reason I guess they chose not to. It could be for literally hundreds of different reasons why they chose not to. We may never know why. I am just happy that TR has an opportunity to expose europe to his particularly unique style and hope that he can build a following out of it that will allow us to one day to a TR TouR in europe. I have always wanted to do that. Keep you fingers crossed and let's watch for that first show review and see how they utilize TR. Who knows, maybe he we only come out for a few songs or something, maybe that's why they didn't advertise it. Well see and like I said we may never know for sure. |

I am not long back from the the show. I am pleased to report that Tim was very well received by the Newcastle crowd. Lots of people seemed to be blown away by his solo (I know I was!), which got one of the largest cheers of the night.
At one point when people were moronically shouting out song requests. Tim yelled for "PIZZA!". Dave agreed that was the request he liked best.

Funny you should mention that, this is an eye-witness account of a girl who met Dave and Tim in Starbucks in Newcastle today:
"he walked over to put sugar in and just said can i have an autograph, and hes like yeh sure and came over to me, and i was like ohh crap. and just pulled out my tickets, asked my name i was like clare, hes like with an i? and i couldn't remember lol...since tim was sitting behind i said is tim playing with u tonight then, and hes like yeh, i begged him to come play with me, wouldnt have it any other way. and i was like u kept that quiet. and then he was like i'm just so glad your not american...and im like no no course im not and he's like yeh i can tell by yer accent"

Thanx for posting that Chris, I absolutely love that story. Here it is a bit easier to read:
Newcastle Fan Clare: Can I have an autograph?
Dave: yeh sure! What's your name?
Newcastle Fan Clare: Clare!
Dave: With an "i"?
Newcastle Fan Clare: Is Tim playing with you tonite then?
Dave: Yeh, I begged him to come play with me, wouldn't have it any other way!
Newcastle Fan Clare: You kept that quiet.
Dave: I'm just glad your NOT American.
Newcastle Fan Clare: No, no, course I'm not.
Dave: Yeh, I can tell by your accent.
Love that story for LOADS of reasons. LOL |

When I looked online today (didn't get a chance yesterday), I almost crapped my pants when I saw Tim's name with Dave. Unexpected, and personaly I am kind of bummed with how people have said in this thread about bad things about DMB's camp for not advertising Tim. I would think the reason why would be 2 reasons: 1- there were no official yes or no from Tim when the tour was schedueld, so they had to bill it Dave Acoustic to leave it open to have Tim in there if he could come, 2- People unfamiliar with Dave & Tim or DMB & Tim or just "what the heck is a Tim?" would cause confusion. Also, this is mainly for Dave and DMB, so I would think we should give Tim a hand for going out of his way, and going to Europe with Dave! That's what FRIENDS are for :) . Also, I don't think they yanked anyone's chains, no one officialy said yes or no anywhere.
Now, it's out there, the tickets have been sold, they are having fun, the crowd likes it, more exposer for Dave, probably makes Dave much more comfortable in such a new environment to have his old mate with him, and get people to check out how GREAT it is to see Tim!
This is for everyone out there in Tim land:
Cheat comandos, ROCK ROCK ON!
Maybe once Tim is big in Europe, he can bring a friend to show people what the heck is a Chapman Stick. |

sound reasoning, i suppose. but i think it would have more to do with their respective schedules more than anything. they both play a lot of places (except albany, new york or anywhere in the berkshires for tim reynolds. i think he's allergic to us.)
Hey Dan, I am not sure you noticed but I announced a show in Woodstock, NY. I think it's about 40 mins from Albany. Hope you can make it out. |

Please... Please tape or find a taper for the Amsterdam show. That's all a poor musician like myself can afford. Oh and I would be grateful. |

I am going to the Cologne show! Hooray for me!
The venue looks kind of cool. It's apparently an old power station.
Now it's called E-Werk; they have it all decked out so they can light it up at night.
Here's a little something I was able to find on a British website about the venue: "The E-Werk, a 2200-capacity hall in Köln-Mülheim, is one of the city's larger venues. This former power station boasts... big-name, international acts... The acoustics are what one would expect from a warehouse-type facility... Situated in an industrial zone... it is not easy to find, so bring a map to be certain. The nearby Keupstrasse, full of Turkish shops, restaurants and takeaways is a great place for a snack before or after a concert."
Perhaps when they wrote this bit, the building wasn't all lit up like it is in the photo... I can't imagine it's hard to find when it looks like that!
I would be happy to get a recording of the show if I can do it with just an iPod. (Doubtful, but that's all I have.) I am mostly joking, but if somebody thinks it can be done, let me know if I'd need some sort of accessory/cable so I can shop for it before the 10th.
teri :)
p.s. I'm not the best reviewer, but I'll make sure to post what I think about the show. Perhaps I'll do it on my blog, though, so that somebody besides Pam will visit my 360 page. |

Sooo, you don't like me visiting your blog?? LOL I KNOW what you meant, hahaha, just had to harass you a bit.
Totally cool that you are going to a show! I still haven't been to a Dave/TR show and it is doubtful I ever will since whenever they did a tour here it was impossible to get tickets. I still regret that I didn't go to the Boone show....now that could have been an awesome board reunion! Oh well, live and learn.
Have fun at the show Teri! I will be waiting for that review, and it will come at a good time.......after my beast of a mid-term! BTW Teri, Daylight Savings Begins the next day here in the good old USA (March 11th) |

If you have the Ipod video it is possible. But you would need to boy two mics. The ipod mic and a better stereo mic. Basically the ipod would be a Hard drive. I'm not sure how much time can be saved. But I imagine 30gb is enough.
Hope that helps |

I have a 60Gb iPod video, so I should be okay for space. I did some surfing around to see what microphones are out there, and I found TuneTalk from Belkin:
If I can find one at a store here, then the hard part will be attempting to get it plugged into the sound board. (5% chance of success, I'm guessing) Otherwise I may just have to hold it up toward the stage, which will probably come out crappy. :( |

Thanks a bunch Torben!! Those are great photos. I especially like the one where Tim is laughing.
I'll try to take photos at the Cologne show also. I just went out and bought an 8GB iPod Nano in case the recording thing works out. I read that they work better for recording since they are digital recordings, where the iPod videos tend to skip because of fragmented disks. I don't want to take any chances, so this was a good excuse to buy a second iPod! |

I'm not familiar with the nano being able to record. And as far as the mic... I have the mic from belkin, except it's for the older version. It worked (except mine was mono). That mic should allow you to hook up a more suitable stereo mic, if you're so inclined.
I'm not sure they'll let you SB it. But if they do, it would make it sooo much easier. Just line in.
BTW if you're a musician, it's nice to have that microphone on the Ipod so you can record jams anytime. |

I know dmb and most d&t shows have not allowed soundboard recordings for a long time (since assholes started selling them as "official" live shows). But then again, this is Europe, and who knows who is at the desk (still might be the usual guys). Good luck on that one, and go with the mono, it will take up less memory so you can save it at the highest quality without worrying. |

Well the video doesn't record in mono as far as I know. And as far as recording, I would think stereo is the way to go. |

Well, wouldn't the music be projected in Mono? So that people on both sides of the stage gets the same musical experience? In which, why bother with stereo? I know that it will be recorded in multiple tracks off the board since they have vocals, 2 guitars, and any sort of effects, and if they release stuff, it is released later after it is re-mixed. |
