So after what started out as a beautiful drive thru Southern Ohio to Cincinnati we got a flat tire. Saturday afternoon, 5ish, in the middle of nowhere. Of course we had the spare donut but those aren't good for long and I knew if we didn't find a place to get it fixed we would probably have an even harder TIMe on Sunday. First we stopped in Mt Orab and the first tire place we tried closed moments before we arrived. We tried and Autozone to see if there was somewhere they could recommend locally and went in search of their recommendation. It was also closed. Then we found a little backwoods repair shop that was still open and we were hoping they could plug out flat tire. Unfortunately when he aired up the tire to find the leak he discovered that the sidewall was dangerously defective and told us we needed a new tire. So off we trekked hoping to find a tire store. The next one we stopped at was also closed and finally just on the outskirts of Cincy we found a Pep Boys and stopped to get our flat tire replaced. It took about an hour which put us very behind schedule given all our stops of the afternoon. I completely forgot to mention the trouble we had figuring out how to get the spare donut off of the rental car we had. That was an experience in frustration all in and of itself. LOL Finally back at the Mad Frog! Seems like we might have come back at the wrong TIMe. Apparently, the college there functions on quarters instead of semesters and we hit the Mad Frog while school was out and it showed in the sparse but appreciative crowd. First, I must mention one of our openers, Stampead. They are from LA and if you get a chance to check them out, do so! They are fantastic and also really nice guys. I am hoping to have them join us more in the future. Like Marcus always does, I think they made alot of fans that nite out of TR fans. It was great having them on the bill and we had good TIMe all hanging out. Seems none of the guys in the band are from LA, but they all moved there to start a career in rock n roll. My sentiments on this are no secret, why go to LA to start your career. LOL I joked with them about that. They asked me to "Stop rubbing it in." LOL Anyway, they all gave up their jobs and homes and booked a cross country tour to support their new album "Milk and Honey". That takes determination and balls and I quite admire that. I hope they succeed. Based on the show I saw they shouldn't have much trouble. So they told me that they were all now officially homeless and I reminded them that they weren't homeless, they were now NOMADS! They liked that alot.
Good news, this show was recorded on both audio and video so that should surface soon. Here is TR's setlist from the evening:
Don't Beat On the Nice Guitar......
Paranormal Parakeets Come Together Jemez Hopeful Continue Betrayal Natural Mystic Che Indoctrinate - Screw Crow -------------------------- Scarab Flourescence Ancestors Don't Know What Up Stream - U Don't And Then They Were Meat Tears Revolution ---------------------------- Flord of the Lies It's Dead(endless Boogiestyle) Whole Lotta Love Squeek To Me ------------------------------ Hands Full Doom Slide the Thing Around On There ------------------------------ All You Need Kundalini If You Need It
TR played his ass off, nuff said! I think the video and audio will bear me out on this. hehe |

Hey!
Just wanted to say hi and that this was my first Tim show and I loved it. The crowd was rather small unfortunately, but it made it more intimate (and let my buddy and I get a nice table to view from). Also wanted to mention the 2nd opening act, Joe Hedges, was absoteluly phenomenal and I highly recommend that everyone check his upcoming album out (early 2007) @ www.joehedges.com or myspace.com/joehedges.

I want to extend a big thank you to Tim and Fluffy for coming back to Cinci. The Mad Frog show was great. Tim, as always, sounded awesome. The crowd was intimate and really into the music except for one drunk jackass the yelled at the top of his lungs numerous time throughout the show. Tim was undaunted and a true pro.
I video taped the show from a tripod front row stage right. the video came out extremely well. I'm still tring to get the soundboard audio from the venue(wish me luck). the audio on the camcorder itself is very very good. this will be released..be patient.
Its hard for me to pick up my guitar in the days following a Tim show. I feel like a two year old who is learning talk even though i've been playing for 6 or 7 years now. |

Hey George, Thanx for coming again and glad you dug the show. THANX for capturing it for all to share. Hopefully you shouldn't have any problems acquiring the audio. The soundguy there is really kewl so I think he will come up with the audio. LMK if there is a problem getting it from him and I can contact him and have him send it to me. |

My guess is you saw Rew with the pedals etc, but you most likely saw Fluffy at some point.
Welcome to the board and from everyone here, glad you had a great TIMe! Hope that show was your first of many more to come! |
