Well, you will all be pleased to know...we got Smile on video. That's right. After 2 days of hinting it to Tim, he unleashed an awesome rendition of Smile, with an amazing jazzy improv section...WHEW!

Anyway...didn't get my ticket in advance for this one, so I froze my ass off in front of the venue to secure one of what we were told were 18 tickets left (BULLSHIT.) Anyway, got in, Rew smuggled us down to the waiting room, and got to talk to Tim and Fluffy for a bit before setting up the camcorder.

What a great venue. Nice atmosphere, wood floors, good lighting, backdrop, etc. After an unmemorable opening act, Tim in standard form unleashed a patented TR delay storm, which I think stunned the crowd a bit...and had them gripped as he went into Betrayal. Again, I had a few beers tonight, and the setlist wasnt fully retained, but we got...Betrayal, Hug, Smile, Indoctrinate, Dreaming, Stream (Kashmir), You Don't Know, Don't Know What, Che, Humble Measure (I asked for that one, too..love it.), 'Hold On, I'm Comin', All You Need Is Love, Come To Daddy...well...Fluffy will have a complete setlist for us soon. A few of my friends got some pictures with Tim (who, again, is the NICEST guy ever) and we skiddadled. Glad I got to meet Jon Soldo and see Erich again...TR Nuts Unite! AHHAAHA

What a great blasted show...we had 2 cams on this one...SpaceMonkey had a great tripod setup, and I tried to get some good close-ups of Tim singing his ass off. Should make for a sweet DVD down the road.

Let's hope for more of the same in Teaneck!

And yes, I consider myself to be ridiculously lucky that I am in a position geographically to see Tim 4 nights in a row. Believe me. I hope to share it all with you in DVD form soon!

Thanks for the review, glad you got to hear Smile! I am going to Lancaster after all so I hope to see you there! (Of course I am going to bring a huge thermos of coffee for the ride home, LOL)

yea I'll say. Tim, Fluffy and Rew are the coolest guys ever. For them to treat their fans as they do is something remarkable...a big thanks to those guys for everything.

They are pretty much the three coolest guys I have ever met in the music world, perhaps even in the whole world.

Tim (before "Faceoff"): "Peace, love....and SEX!"

I Rebel Against Myself
It's Something Thats Inherent
The Ego's Way or the Highway
Face To Ass, Ass To Face
You Tell Yourself That
You're The Shit
But You're Not Really You
Your You is Faking Out
Your I
So Say Goodbye To
That Guy........

So he finished the set with Cold Sweat and it was the most blistering version to date. Unfortunately the CD ran out that we were recording at the board so you will have to rely on the video that was shot for this. Scorching, absolutely scorching!

He did, but it wasn't on the printed setlist. He loves to play the set by ear. LOL Setlists are usually only a guide for him. He says he feels out a particular audience and sees where it takes him.

I have to say, that for my first TR show, it couldn't have been better. Thanks to Erich for taking me along.
