i enjoyed the shit out tim's show at mexicali the other night in NJ; his shows are always great.

however, i want to say that on behalf of many people i was there with, i was so annoyed that this small group of people decided to sit on the side of the stage that tim just played on, take out their guitars, and start playing and yelling dave shit - so fucking disrespectful. i was embarassed to be standing near that racket. screaming gray street at the top of your lungs, and badly might i add, after hearing the deep shit tim played minutes earlier, made me so angry; and i love that music also, but it was not right to do. the fact that people were going out to their cars to get their axes and join the noise made me wonder if i was still on earth...

if you're gonna have tim sign your martin d-41 - great - very cool, but don't fucking insult him by playing dave shit on the edge of the stage he just played HIS OWN SHIT on. dave is great, but there's a time and a place for his tunes and i hope to god that tim didn't hear the giant "ha ha" noise that people were forcing in peoples' ears.

be a fan, support tim, but don't disrespect him as a solo artist and musician.

Here's the thing:

No one on this board, who has posted more than once, would ever do some shit like that. If I had Tim sign my D-16RGT, I would either ask him to play ME a riff or three, or I'd put it away without strumming a single string with risk of embarrassing myself in the presence of one of the greatest guitarists on Earth.

Two: Those douchebags are most likely no where near this board and will never read your post. But your aggravation is definitely felt and shared. Some assholes like that ruined a show for me in Iowa City a few years back.

By the way, I like the sig

A douchebag like that, does not deserve a D41.

At the Golden Gate Park show I was yelling: "Offspring" and "Kundalini". But I guess the band must not have heard me.

if you didn't like it, why didn't you say something to them. it's not hard. wait until a song's done: "alright ace, take a break. we came here to see a master at guitar play, not to hear a couple of jerk offs try their best to imitate music that isn't as good as what we paid to hear." or better yet, don't say a word. just break a fucking chair over their heads.

I would choose the chair over the head, and then, well, you'd just have to put a bush/cheney sticker on their arse and watch the entire "congregation" beat the living hell out of them, oh hoe glorious it would be...

They were doing it AFTER the show, and I didn't think it was that big of deal anyway. If Tim didn't like Dave's music, he wouldn't play with him first of all and second, they just had their guitars out so TIM could sign them. I have seen Tim 3 times and the only thing that pisses me off is when people scream WHILE he's playing.

Tim is a big proponent of PEACE, something some of you guys obviously should look closer into, you sound as bellicose as BUSH.

Somehow I doubt they were literally suggesting you break a chair over their heads. For someone who uses the word bellicose, I doubt sarcasm is out of your vocabulary.

oh, oh. after the show. well then that's different. they can pretty much whatever the hell want with those guitars then because it wasn't like they were disrupting the performance.

i did actually did mean break a chair over their heads, by the way. literally lift a chair up and strike them in the head with such force that the chair splinters into pieces.

death to false metal.

This thread had me LOL!! Almost as much as we were laughing in the dressing room. YES, we could hear the DMB renditions in the dressing room. We actually joked about needing to get out of there and sign some autographs so they would stop playing. LOL Anyway, I guess they didn't know that it's in our contract that no DMB music is to be played in the venue during TR shows. LOL Anyway, as annoying as it was for TR, Rew and myself I guess it could have been worse, they could have been attempting TR songs which prolly would have butchered even worse than the DMB versions. They are free to like and play DMB songs and I am sure in their minds it was a tribute to TR in some twisted way. The bottom line is they must respect TR in some way, they did come to the show so you can't fault them completely, but it was a little silly I thought. But we do know that alot of TR fans are also DMB fans so in a way it is expected and tolerated.

But even if they had, who was gonna play it. LOL

LOL although I think HRW is prolly right, TR would prolly not agree that that is the proper response, BUT it sure is funny to think about. LOL
