Surprised no one mentioned this(or maybe I just missed it)but is anyone surprised the "mainstream" press can't get the simplest info right. I mean, you would think that the person writing the article would at least know a little about DMB and personnel. SHOCKING. We got a great laugh out of it and have not stopped making jokes about it. Ironically, TR has been talking about buying a real drum kit after this TouR. He is interested in the one of the 2 new John Bonham kits available. Can't wait to see what that might spawn, could be REALLY KEWL!!

Matthews' 'Devil' is sinfully good

Not surprisingly, the namesake of the Dave Matthews Band doesn't wander far from the group's sound on his solo debut, Some Devil, a detour distinguished by introspection and an intimate tone.
While Matthews dials down the bluster, he's not submitting an unplugged assortment of tender ballads. Lavish arrangements, strenuous beats and a steady supply of electric guitar give Some Devil sonic depth and rich textures that contradict any notion of a frivolous side project.
Nor does Matthews toil alone. He gets a major assist from producer Stephen Harris, who also oversaw DMB's Busted Stuff and was the engineer for Before These Crowded Streets. Phish's Trey Anastasio plays guitar on four tracks and co-wrote the lovely Grey Blue Eyes. Tim Reynolds, Matthews' collaborator on moonlighting gigs, plays drums. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band horns add a vital kick to the enchanting Dodo. Devil's key enabler may be the Seattlemusic group's heavenly strings, used to gorgeous effect on Too High, Baby and So Damn Lucky.
Matthews' smooth vocals and romantic lyrics elevate weaker melodies and imbue such heartfelt tunes as Stay or Leave with an aching beauty. It's a smoldering heart, not fire-and-brimstone rock, that radiates Devil's warmth.

| Classic, how can a respectable newspaper mistake something that badly? I'm sure Tim got a real kick out of that. Everyone knows that Tim plays the sax, how can they get that wrong? :lol: |
