I dont know if anyone has [psted this or not, but it was on another M/B I am on...enjoy..it really helped me...
1. I love you not because of who you are, but
because of who I am when I am with you.

2. No man/woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because
it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that
hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

Certainly words to live by, we would all be alot happier if we could really follow them. Unfortunately, I find, the heart does not always want to cooperate with those thoughts. In a perfect world it would be great to be able to fall back on these, but sometimes in the face of heartbreak it is hard to see the larger picture. Thanx for posting them. They are inspiring.

I'll have to say, Kaleigh, I think some of those things are silly.

quote:
2. No man/woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.
13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

Those two in particular didn't settle well with me. Not that I'm disagreeing with you Kaleigh, just...they don't seem right exactly. Maybe I'll come back to that point later.

On #2 if they make you cry tears of joy then it is OK.

On #13 I think what it is saying it don't go looking for romance, don't try and force it and let it find you. I could be wrong but that is how I interpreted it. There is something to be said for that philosophy, take it from me.

I agree with your #2 comment Fluffy, but I don't believe that it really specified romantic interests for #13, so I'd have to say that as a general rule (as which it presents itself) that's not that great. It IS always best to do your best. Otherwise you'll get a degree in biology and sell office supplies.

What don't you understand about them? Perhaps you need a good example to explain it for you. Like what you said....

quote:

Make war, not love. It's safer.

Now.......let's analyse this. Obviously, you can tell what you meant when you said this. You meant that it is safer in the sense that it is easier....since we've been doing it for a long TIMe........but the irony of this statement lies in the obvious. War is in fact much more deadly that love....therefore it is not safer. So basically, when someone says something is ironic, it means the exact opposite of what they said.

Now on to subtle........here's a good example. A married couple's anniversary is coming up and the husband always forgets. So....instead of simply telling him that the date is coming up, she will do subtle things to remind him without actually telling him.........like simply circling that date on a wall calander. Or watching their wedding video when he comes home. That is what subtle is.

"I didn't think it was physically possible, but this both sucks and blows."

Yep, I could imagine alot more people getting their asses kicked for saying how they feel when others don't agree.

Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

"If you can't say something nice, shut the fuck up!"

I know what you were trying to say Liz and I agree that the world would be a much nicer place if people were just honest with one another. Unfortunately, I also believe that everyone needs to play by the same rules for that kind of honest to work. Still to many assholes in the world for it to be UTOPIA. But it is a nice thought.

Yeah, its very often better for me NOT to say how I feel. That's not to say that I'm not honest... Two totally different things, in my opinion.

Agreed.......but obviously there are situations in which you have to be "dishonest"......like if you were a medical doctor in Vietnam and a 18 year-old kid was asking you if he'd make it......you'd have to lie.

Some people see not telling everything you know as dishonesty. I think they are wrong. I might lead someone asking something I didn't want to answer in another direction...kinda redirect their thoughts, but I won't lie to them.. The only lie I've told within the last...well, maybe year or so is..well, twice, same lie...both time, insurance companies asked me if I had smoked w/in the last 12 months...I smoke cigars...and occasionally cigs, but I said no.

BUT (and this is, just like I like, a BIG butt), I have since stopped smoking, so it's no big deal, I guess.... I might smoke a cigar once in a while...

Whoa I'd better get off the personal information train...

Fluffy, you're right, the two may go hand in hand, but they are seperate and can be used separately.

What were we talking about?
