I have a article/lesson on Rodeo Picking (used by Tim), if anyone wants it, it made me about 60% faster...

Hey um, i downloaded the attachment, and Scanned it, and it's fine over in my neck of the woods. No virus. So i don't know what's up with that, just thought id let ya know.

Yeah Silky, I downloaded the attachment when you sent it to me, too, and I didn't have any problems.
Today my computer totally screwed up, but I think that that's unrelated. I just shut everything down and then restarted and so far everything's been fine. So that's good.

Well I'm not really sure what happened, might have been a glitch in your virus protection program, but I ran two seperate programs both with the most recent updates and came up clean both times (look ma, no std's!!!). Anyway, Patrick and Jason, I'll just post it at the bottom of this message to be safe so that in case my programs just aren't up to par, and something IS wrong, that I'm not helping to spread something bad. Oh and poole, the reason I didn't want to post here is because I didn't want to seem as though I consider myself the 'teacher' on the board or what not. Just thought it might seem a little pretentious to some of the more experienced guys, especially since it would seem as though I was taking credit for these, even though they are pretty standard exercises and only one of them is something that I came up with on my own. If you have a metronome, during these is the time to use it. Anyway here's the goods... notepad as always for it to line up. -J
The key to improvement with every one of these exercises is to be consistent. Do not increase speed on any of them until you can play them perfectly at any given speed. Once you are flawless at one speed, take it up a notch and practice until you are perfect at a faster speed, and so on.

Try this using each pair of fingers that you can. Also try moving the hammers farther apart. Rather than just hammering from 0->2->3, try 0->2->4 or 0->2->5 or 0->2->6. Once you are comfortable with starting from an open string, start on the first fret, and repeat, going up the entire neck. Again, feel free to widen the hammer.

The idea of this one is to have to quickly move your hand from one position on the fretboard to another that is "far" away. The frets don't matter, so much as the distance, and you can add in another position change if you like that would take you from high on the fretboard back down low. This will help develop control for playing songs that require you to make long slides, or have chords that are in far positions from each other.
