Yes.....I know it's by Lindsey Buckingham, but I was curious if anyone here could give me some pointers on how to learn this song. The only thing standing between me and learning it is that he plays two different beats simultaneously.....something I can't seem to do. It's a sort of a banjo style of picking I think. Anyway, could someone please give me some advice or maybe some exercises to help me learn Big Love.....because trying by myself just ends up with me being frustrated.

Yeah Jamie...you're right....I forgot to subtract 4 because of the capo.

And I was wondering if there were any available tabs for Fleetwood Mac's new CD, Say You Will. Particularly Red Rover and Say Goodbye. The only tabs I can find on the internet for the band are of the older stuff. And after seeing Live in Boston, I just want to learn Say Goodbye even more.

this is late, but to memjo: you like to be a perfectionist elitest fuck who likes to shit on everyone else's hard work, which they don't even owe you, apparently. as if you know anything at all. a real music afficienado. that's great. it's too bad that you don't have any place to do that since YOU'RE USING TABLATURE. music elitist fucks? they read real notation, and shit on tabs in general, accurate or not. so either put on some big boy pants and go learn real notation, or just shut the fuck up. there's only one idiot here.

big love is a goddamned masterpiece, and pcb knocked my fucking socks right off.

I'm VERY new to this song, but I think I see a correction to Solo 2, some of those ascending notes seem to be wrong, they don't sound minor enough. I'd change them to:

e----0-----0-----0-----0-
b---0-----0-----0-----0--
g--9-----7-----5-----7---
d-7-----5-----3-----5----
a------------------------
E------------------------

which then also leaves room to easily change to the strumming "Em" chord:

e-0-
b-0-
g-7-
d-5-
a-7-
E-0-

Just a suggestion, I think you can hear those bass notes pretty clearly though. Let me know what you guys think.

Pcb I'd like to take a look at your video if you've still got it.

After further practice, here's another modification of that part.. I think it's actually right this time:

e----0----0----0----0-
b---0----0----0----0--
g--5----4----2----4---
d-7----5----3----5----
a---------------------
E---------------------

so that strumming chord is just different by:

e-0-
b-0-
g-4-
d-5-
a-7-
E-0-

Death to all tabbers!!!!
Zachmozach Posted - 05/24/2005 : 10:49:00 PM
Mejmo, you act like you paid him to tab it. I think since those of us who have been around here realize that tabs are pretty much not acurate no matter what, and do nothing to tell you the rythyms or much anything else. It's simply a way to quickly convey how we have worked out to play the song. So basically quit your bitching. If you want to go somewhere and bitch about tabs being wrong there are plenty of tab sites out there with more wrong tabs then you have time to bitch about them. If you want to offer a correction feel free. If you're not going to say what's wrong then move on.
pcbTIM Posted - 05/24/2005 : 9:46:45 PM
I don't see what's wrong with it. But if you think there is something incorrect, then show me. I'd be more than happy to learn the "correct" way of playing it, but there's no need to be a jerk about it.
Hopeful Rolling Waves Posted - 05/23/2005 : 07:43:19 AM
I'm need a help?

Well, thanks, you steaming glass of douche water. And what critique? If you could read, you'd know I said nothing about the tab he posted.

I am simply stating you are a complete dick for even saying anything, you don't like it, piss off and go find another tab because you're too lazy to work it out yourself. Or worse, you can play it and instead of tabbing it out for people, you just sit there in your cubicle and condescend from afar.

Eat shit, royal asshole!
Mejmo Posted - 05/22/2005 : 07:03:03 AM
You know what is the difference ? That my critique had a bit of sense, whether yours didn't. When someone would like to a learn this tremendous song, he ought to have a RIGHT tab. PCBtim's tab is a holy crap, it can only annoy some optimistic guitar player. He doesn't have any ear or something...
and one thing i've forgot, i'm sure you need a help. It is never too late idiot ;)
Hopeful Rolling Waves Posted - 05/20/2005 : 07:33:57 AM
Mejmo, go fuck yourself. We're not all overblown perfectionist jerk-offs here, so take your Guitar Pro tab and shove it up your ass. No one cares. The kid's having a good time playing a difficult track, and your noob ass is gonna come in here with your big fat fucking ego hanging out and bash him.

Don't let me see you in public, cuase I'll knot your little dick around your throat, and yes, I can get 1 and a half inches to stretch that far.

I guarantee, I am at LEAST 90% sure you're a fucking idiot, so I guess I'm right.
Mejmo Posted - 05/20/2005 : 07:05:02 AM
pcbTim: you are absolutely wrong with that tab. Download guitar pro tab and you'll see how it should be played. You don't use even a string bending throughout a solo, as well as other parts you play with mistakes ... you'd rather shut up than post a total bullshit here, you only confuse others ! I hate these people. WHEN YOU ARE NOT SURE OF YOUR TABS AT ALMOST 90% DON'T POST IT AT ALL !! sux
pcbTIM Posted - 04/22/2005 : 1:45:41 PM
You can do whatever you want. I don't personally....but if you're more comfortable using your thumb, then go for it.
Mejmo Posted - 04/20/2005 : 04:22:24 AM
i have one noobish question ;) do i have to use my thumb of my left hand within bassline in the introduction ??

Here you go......proof that this song can be played. Side note....I've actually tried to learn this song for over 2 years now. So I'm pretty happy with myself. And I learned the solo as well.....so the song's complete.

I did something better than that....I remembered that I had a digital camera (I haven't used it in a long time). I recorded myself, so you can see it as well as listen to it. Give me a few minutes and I'll have it uploaded.

Oh, you can't just mic up your computer? I am sure you have even a shitty boom mic.

Also, I can play Go Insane....that song is awesome too.

Pcb, if you could post your version, I'd love to hear it, I am thinking of trying my hand at this one again as well.

I'm glad you got it man, I was going to suggest sleeping with Stevie Nicks.

Can you play "Never Going Back Again"?
pcbTIM Posted - 04/06/2005 : 3:31:00 PM
OK......none of you may believe me, but I can now play this song (except for the solo part). This has been one of the hardest songs I've learned to play. And of course, after playing it over and over again, the song seems easy now. The way I learned it was to play it very very slowly and gradually pick up the speed. All that's left is the solo and I'm set.
pcbTIM Posted - 03/30/2005 : 3:45:36 PM
Here's the link....

http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3UH6BQQ2DJXT00A986P3W57EKU

And I think I figured out how to play it......I just start really slow....and then after playing it for a while, I can increase the speed. A pain in the ass, but it's seems to be working.
Hopeful Rolling Waves Posted - 03/30/2005 : 1:43:14 PM
No, that would be wrong.

I think Fleetwood Mac can eat a fat pile of shit, but Big Love solo Buckingham is a fucking masterwork of fingerstyle guitar...for a pop song at least.
pcbTIM Posted - 03/30/2005 : 05:27:06 AM
I don't know about an mp3, but you can listen to a part of it on amazon. The song is called Big Love. Here's the link, Silky.....prepare to be amazed, because that's one person you're listening to.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002NHG/qid=1112178369/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/104-9462748-2803101?v=glance&s=music

Also, I own the DVD and have watched it countless times. I have also found many tabs on the internet that seem accurate enough. I can psuedo-play it. The only problem I have is that my other fingers want to pluck the strings at the same time as my thumb, which is keeping the baseline. Looks like learning TR songs has actually hindered me in this department.

Oh and Silky, I have the entire song saved on my computer....so I can email it to you if you want. Trust me, you'll want to hear the whole thing.
GuitarGuy305 Posted - 03/29/2005 : 7:47:08 PM
This song rocks. Lindsey is awesome. I know I couldn't play the song for shit and have never tried.
Silky The Pimp Posted - 03/29/2005 : 6:56:09 PM
I've never heard this... care to post an mp3 or something?
Hopeful Rolling Waves Posted - 03/29/2005 : 4:11:49 PM
Other than the fact that I firmly believe that this song is physically impossible to play, even after seeing Buckingham play it, I suggest ordering the back issue of Acoustic Guitar World that has the song tabbed out (it's a good tab) and then buy The Dance DVD and watch him play it until you become a little Fleetwood Mac zombie.
