Digidesign makes ProTools, which simply put is a DAW (digital audio workstation) including both hardware and software.
As far as RAM requirements, it depends on what kind of setup you'd use ProTools for. The site should be able to answer most of your questions.
The only problem with running ProTools on PCs and not Macs is that not all PCs have a firewire drive installed, though that's changing rapidly. |
