Yeah, when I went home to my parents house in Indio last week the heat was insane. When I had lived there I'd gotten used to it, but living by the coast had deconditioned me. It was only about 110 degrees (which believe it or not isnt that bad for Indio) but I couldnt take very much of it. Every day I tried laying (or lying?) out by the pool but I would just roast away and I could only take about 15-20 mins until it was unbarable. I did end up with a nice tan though after the burn went away. :-)

Yeah, I can't believe that the president's official stance on global warming is there is not enough conclusive evidence to deem it a problem! Actually I guess I can believe it from this administration..

Welcome to the world we have created!!!! Thank you disappearing rain forests, global warming, depleted ozone, etc etc etc. We only have ourselves to blame. Oh yes, and Canada.

Everyone everywhere thinks it's hotter there than everywhere else. (except the places it's obviously not). I would like to say that I think MS is the hottest place. With the humidity and all. I will agree that DC and that area have it about as bad...but I'd still say that we take the edge. If not, then explain to me why the government is using us (and Arkansas, Louisiana and ...maybe Alabama) to test their new heat warning system. Because we're the worst. (And, you might contend, the least equipped to disagree with them implementing that here...well, ok. Lots of people here are stupid.) But that's right. My state and three others are going to used to test the new heat warning system. Notice they didn't choose...say...Arizona or California, or Virginia...

hehe...I know I know, it's hot everywhere...

Well if it makes you feel any better its so hot and humid here the air is blue. The nice thing is the air is perfect for a huge lightning storm which I can see brewing over the lake. I love thunder & lightning storms. From here in East TIMor you can see the bolts cracking down over the lake as they approach from the west. Better at night but its daylight on this side of the globe.

Yeah. But I'd say it's a sweltering cesspool of sweaty humidity instead....

Fluffy Posted - 06/23/2002 : 09:42:40 AM
Just curious, have you been here before or do you live here now? You speak the truth my brother!!! Summer in DC is sweltering cesspool of sweaty humanity. UGGGHHHH

Hmm.. Well, I just meant that the heat in DC seems hotter than lots of other places that claim to be hot...like Indio, CA or well, that's it...just hot.

Clever sig genome. I like it!!!

genome Posted - 06/14/2002 : 8:56:29 PM
Yeah I had to adjust the signature image...before I didn't have God touching TIM's head. God was just kind of pointing at TIM. Actually, God was pointing at Tim's package, so that's what I had to adjust. Now it looks like TIM's being chosen. And we all know that's obvious.

What can one do in a warehouse for 8 hours a day?

Hmmmm...sounds illegal. Count me in.

Seriously tho, I feel for you man, that's some hardcore heat. Not like the heat in DC, tho. Amateur.

victorwootenfan Posted - 06/14/2002 : 8:35:25 PM
screw you all!! ihave to work inside a non-airconditioned warehouse for 8 hours everyday, and all that great 90+ degree heat gets trapped inside it. don't start on heat to me!!

The weather in the valley hasn't been too bad lately, but I'm sure it'll go into triple digits soon. One day I got into the car and the temperature gauge said 108! The only words that were able to escape my mouth were "Holy shit".
