I finally got out to see a Tim Reynolds concert for the first time in.... forever. I didn't see any of the last [x] tours and I've missed out!
I heard a lot of familiar playing, but I want to say something that you have to hear out:
Tim is a much improved guitar player from years ago. Was he always great? Yes, of course. But what he was bringing to the songs last night was something more than he used to bring. It felt like he played into the songs better, his music matched more perfectly, a lot of it seemed much more melodic (especially when the song called for it).
TR was really "on." It was great and I loved it. I recommend you all seeing him during this tour if you have the chance.
There were some other musicians there playing too. They were ok.

| Wow....never thought I would see a new post on the board, let alone a great review! I think my concert going days are over, or at least on hold indefinitely. (Too busy with work & family.) Great to read your review, Jason! So glad you got to hear him play again. I did see him on the David Letterman with DMB and thought he looked and sounded great. Of course it is not the same as hearing him live. Was fun to watch your video, thanks for posting! |
