Every once in a while something happens that causes me to look at my life, where I am, where I've been and where I want to go.
My life now could be summed up best by saying I feel very grounded. I'm happy every day, maybe not all day every day, but every day. The only thing I desire is knowledge. I always loved learning and that will never change. I feel very fortunate to have the life I have, even though by most standards, it is not one that others would envy or would even desire.
I don't have a lot of materialistic things, my home is simple, but I do have an awesome family so my home is always filled with love.
The people who came here over the past 10 years and TIM, the one who gave us this common ground where we crossed paths, enriched my life more than I could ever measure. Thanks to all!
I know there are still many who come here from TIMe to TIMe and then leave again, because whatever caused us to come together years ago apparently no longer exists. Since TR is still actively touring yearly, I am not sure why this site has all but died. I for one would love to see some life breathed into this site again. I wonder how many TR or TR3 "newbies" have come here and left without comment. What would be the point of becoming a member of this site in it's current condition with months or years between posts?
TIM's music was a gift he gave to us and Jon was kind enough to create this site. I for one, would love to give a gift back to them and breath life back into this board again. I would love to hear from those who were active here years ago and anyone new.
Anyone up to the challenge?
I haven't been able to catch a TR or TR3 show in about 2 years, but would love to hear from people who have. Would love to hear about recent shows and what you thought of them.
Come on people, come out from hiding. Take a few minutes out of your busy day and just add a post here. Don't do it for me, do it for TR! |

I still check back...though rather infrequently. And there's almost NEVER anything going on.
I, for one, lost interest when Tim stopped his solo acoustic tours. I'm just not "into" TR3. Tim's music made a VERY impactful change to my life...but I'm not affected anymore. And maybe that's OK...?
It would be great to see things pick up again...but I'm not sure it will happen.
C'est la vie. |

Much love to everyone here now and then...I think facebook killed the board though, some of us became actual friends, not just virtual friends, which is pretty awesome! I do miss the days of old when we would discuss everything, HRW would say something snide and then Dan P. would berate him back. |

Hey Dave. Nice to see your post. Hope things are going well with your music! You are right about facebook killing this message board.
Oh well. Guess it is fair to say my message board "CPR" failed. No point in coming back. As gnome44 said, C'est la vie.

I do still check in here from time to time, but not with great frequency as there just aren't that many posts anymore. I think part of it is that many of us who were in school when these boards used to be busy now have jobs, some have kids etc. and just not the same free time they used to. Plus there's Facebook... which I don't really check that often either.
I certainly hope everyone is well! |

Not that I was ever a big part of the gang, but I miss reading the banter from the other users... It's a bit sad to think that now that TR is at his largest notoriety, with his annual touring with Matthews, he has this website, where a once active message board existed, and it's lost its livelihood. While message boards are certainly the way of the past compared to other social media, I can only be grateful that they were the advent of my discovery of artists like TR. I'll always look back this particular site and this board with extreme fondness. But I suppose we're all looking at it now like it was something more of a fossil than anything modern or with utility.
To PJK: You were/are always an inspiring source. I can only hope that your words are as graceful to those in the lives around you as they have been in with those that have been privileged to read your comments here over the years.
To those that have been the Fur Ranch with TR: I can only envy you, and I hope you learned as much as I could dream.

Awe, JTR, thank you for your kind words! You were a bigger part or this board than you think, a very positive part!
Hey Silky! Nice to see your post as well! |

I was only active here for a short while, but I LOVED it. I love the community feel of an active message board. I agree, however, with the combination of thoughts expressed here that facebook and general busy-ness disconnected many of us. Facebook's evil man; it gives people a false sense of connectedness. But I digress. I would love if this started back up and I will likely continue to check back every few months ;) |

There are often times when I experience something (a song, a movie, a concert, a book) and I think about someone on this board and wonder if they experience it and what they thought about it. I agree with what's been said about jobs and other time consuming responsibilities. Maybe the magic of the board has gone, but it's comforting to know that in a small corner of the internet there immortalized in a message board few may stumble upon, is our culture and family. I definitely thought about you Pam as I was at my first Peter Gabriel concert and it was everything you said it would be. Especially when he played "Washing of the Water" and "Biko" as the encore. I hope you've all been well and this world's been treating you kindly! |

Ben! Great to see your post! Life has been very busy, very stressful for me lately, but good. Decided to check out the message board tonight and was soooo surprised to see a new post and that it was from you!
OMG, I think of you too whenever I hear a PG song. I will never forget how you helped me win that contest,Big Time!
I wanted to go see one of PG's recent shows and it killed me when I heard he closed the show in Philly with Biko! You know how much that song means to me, I would have loved to have heard him sing that live! Likewise, Washing of the Water was a song I always connected with.
Wish I could make it down to DC for TR's show, I think Teri is going. Sadly I can't even make his show in Philly. I sometimes wonder if I will ever get to see TR again. Still, I am hugely thankful that I got to as many shows as I have over the years and I feel blessed to have been part of this message board and to have crossed paths with so many truly inspirational members.
Thanks for posting Ben, that really made my night! ~Peace

Facebook/Social Media definitely killed the traditional internet forum, or rather, evolved from it.
Funny actually, because I thought of Tim Reynolds while reading the latest from my twitter feed and someone with the last name "Reynolds" was retweeted. Seeing this thread I felt inclined to chip in.
This was definitely the smallest, most niche forum I ever participated in much. I groan a little every time I have to log in to an old website with my misspelled handle though (should be guitarDED, my name's not Ted)
Cheers to you all, I'll be back in a few years maybe. |
