Liz, try this:

type [!img]http://members.aol.com/tericee/SK/images/1h1w.gif[!img] but take out the exclamation points and put in the URL of whatever image you want to see.

teri

p.s. What's the picture you're trying to get to show up? If it's on a server like www.geocities.com, it might never work.

Correct me if I am wrong but.... doesnt the 2nd one have to look like this: [/img] ??? So wouldn't it be:

[!img]http://members.aol.com/tericee/SK/images/1h1w.gif[!/img] but take out the exclamation points and put in the URL of whatever image you want to see.

Just making sure we don't confuse anyone!!

I must be in some bizarre dual reality thing or place cause I got a computer question right and Teri got it wrong, and she misspelled something and I didn't!.
quote:
ACK! I was wr... rrrr... nnngg. You're right.

Shouldn't it be wr...rrrr..."OOOOO"...nnngg? There is no "O" in yOur wrOng. I am pretty sure that is a misspelling.
Now back to our regularly scheduled REALITY!!

Main Entry: [1]du·al
Pronunciation: 'dü(-&)l also 'dyü-&l
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin dualis, from duo two —more at TWO
Date: 1607
1 : of grammatical number : denoting reference to two
2 a : consisting of two parts or elements or having two like parts : DOUBLE b : having a double character or nature
- du·al·ly /-&(l)-lE/ adverb

Main Entry: [1]du·el
Pronunciation: 'dü-&l also 'dyü-
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Medieval Latin duellum, from Old Latin, war
Date: 15th century
1 : a combat between two persons; specifically : a formal combat with weapons fought between two persons in the presence of witnesses
2 : a conflict between antagonistic persons, ideas, or forces; also : a hard-fought contest between two opponents

Main Entry: [2]duel
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): du·eled or du·elled; du·el·ing or du·el·ling
Date: circa 1645
intransitive senses
: to fight a duel
transitive senses
: to encounter (an opponent) in a duel
- du·el·er or du.el.ler noun
- du·el·ist or du.el.list noun

Hurry back to grammar class, you may miss when they teach the difference between dual and duel.

Let me try and use them in a sentence. I have offered up some dual meanings and usages for these words, if it is still not clear to you, we can duel it out, as with swords. Now back to my DUAL reality, where I am ALWAYS right!! HEHE

I'll [bold]give[/give] you the computer thing, but not the spelling thing. Remember in Happy Days when Fonzie couldn't say he was wrong? I was trying to spell it the way he said it. Intentional misspelling doesn't count. (I hope.)

On another note, I found the second pronunciations of dual and duel very entertaining. They remind me of the commercial where the British narrator says "Jag-yoo-ah" instead of the way we unrefined Americans say it.

teri

Did I mention that I finished a marathon?
