I'm freakin out a little. I saw something somewhere showing what's required for the workshop and I'm not at that level. PLEASE write and tell me what I can have my guitar instructor have me working toward in these next few weeks. I'm just learning to do some Travis picking and am doing well with it. Help - and next? Hi there. There are 7 of us going from these boards that I would say are all at different skill levels, some of which may be spelled out on FPR's skill level descriptions and some that may not. To be honest, I don't think TR's workshop is going to be your run of the mill workshop that they usually have at FPR. I too doubted my skill when I signed up, I still do. But Tim may not hold one of these again and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Even if I just sit there like an idiot and stare, I will consider my time and money well spent to get to pick the brain of, and hang out with, the master.
I would maybe suggest perusing the tablature section of timreynolds.com and learn a few of your favorite tunes of Tim's. If you get a couple of those down, you should be in good shape to learn whatever it is that Tim is going to show us. |

I'm going as well, and not sure if I fully fit the qualifications. BUT I love Tim's music, and definitely emulate his style to a degree, so I think that's enough.
I mean, if you're not playing just with your fingers, you may be a bit disappointed, but I'm just speculating. I know Tim well enough to know that he'll be loose with what he teaches, and will probably be as accommodating to everyone there as he can be.
If Fluffy takes a bit to post, don't sweat it. He's a busy man. |
