Well, first it was the Sgt Pepper's sessions a year and so ago. Now it is the Joshua Tree Sessions.

Meaning, the local radio station is having local musicians do covers of the songs and are going to broadcast the best live on the radio on friday.

However, this year they have some also up on the site to stream.

here's the site : http://www.1055triplem.com/The-Joshua-Tree-Sessions/3645164

And that Ranting Thespian does one hell of a Where the Streets Have No Name, and a nice In God's Country too ;) .

Meh. I had to sit through U23D last July. My quota for all things U2 will be filled up for the next ten years.

I didn't trick you. You almost got to hear ME. It's a U2 song, but it's me playing it. Streets With No Name took a lot of effort trying to get all the guitar parts and bass line right. I really worked my ass off on that recording.

I love it that people post recordings of themselves on here, and people listen and like them. When I post something I am proud of, I get this. Thanks a lot.

I didn't listen to this sooner because I read the subject on the main page and didn't come in because I just thought it was something about U2.

Are these all you, as far as all parts? I'm confused as far as who the Stagehands are. All in all good stuff. I'm not crazy about the vocal harmony on Streets, but I enjoyed both recordings.

GuitarGuy305, thank you for listening, really thank you.

The Stagehands is the band I am trying to start. I decided to use that name on that recording since I did multiple parts, so it would seem like a band did it. However it was just me. I struggled on wither to keep the two vocals or just have the one. I decided to do it with both to make it sound fuller, and I was running out of time to submit them. I actually had both of my recordings broadcasted on the radio.

I am glad you liked them, and that you actually listened to them.

Where the Street Have No Name was really good. I don't know the other song...so I have nothing to compare it to, but it sounded great too.

I like the beginning of Streets...it sounded like something that could have been looped (or something that could be looped if you were to do the song live).

Nice work!

What equipment did you use for the recording?

Post something that isn't a U2 cover, and I PROMISE I'll listen to it, many, many times I'm sure your covers sound great, but it's kinda like multiplying by zero. Even if you did the best cover of any song that's ever been done, it's still a U2 song

Agreed. Don't take it personally, but I just don't like U2 stuff. I make one exception: Sunday Bloody Sunday. Cover that, and I promise to give it a listen. And nine out of ten things that get posted I don't listen to or watch.

Thanks, and no I didn't loop it. What I used was my Guild acoustic going though my Line 6 Echo Park Delay for the opening riff. Then all parts went through my Fishman Aura. After that it went though a Euroroack mixer. I then fed it into my line in on my computer and recorded it with Cool Edit Pro 2.0. For the bass line, I ran my Aura then through my Electro Harmonix POG turning up the sub octave level.

Sounds great! Pretty cool how they have local musicians recreate the album. What a great idea. Do you have the link for Sgt Peppers?? I am not a U2 fan and in my opinion you sound way better then they do. Actually it isn't that I don't like their music, Joshua Tree is by far their best album. I think my bias is that I dislike Bono and I think he is a phony. Plus my friend Eric used to play it all the time and always made me watch U2 videos. haha Either way you sound great!!! Where's the Sgt Pepper link?

Wow, thanks Ruby. I have to say, I do think Bono has a HUGE ego. However, I respect the man big time for his charity work, and he does have one hell of a voice.

Sadly, they didn't have all the songs up for the Sgt Pepper's one like they did for U2 this time. However I still have the songs I did on the computer (plus they cut off my rambling opening for Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, basically because they used it as the Reprise when they broadcasted it). Plus the solo used on Good Morning Good Morning came from someone on these boards. If you know a good place to host files, I'd be happy to upload them.
