I was going through the attic and came across an old "memory" box. You all know I am the "old lady" here, I guess what I found proves that. I found my ticket stub for my first concert I ever attended, the BEATLES at John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia PA.

Date: August 16,1966.
Time: 8:00 P.M.
Sec WF Row 23 seat 33

Price: $5.00 !!!! Yep thats right, actually $4.76 for the ticket and
$0.24 City tax!

Steel Pier Management!

Talk about a blast from the past! Amazing. I still remember what I wore, a baby blue & white stripped upire waisted dress. (In those days girls never wore pants, no jeans, only dresses. Yikes I AM OLD!!!)

Anyway thought some of you would get a kick out of this. I know I did. BTW, I have some up close and personal photos of John and Paul as well. I was So in love with Paul, LOL!

Oh and in the same box I found a ticket stub for an airplane trip I took with my father from Philadelphia PA to Washington DC on Nov 12, 1963 and the cost of the round trip ticket....a whopping $12.58! (It was on Eastern Air Lines)

Also found some old "love letters" from my college boyfriend who lived in California. Not sharing the content of those, LOL!

Damn, Pam.. That was right at the end of the Beatles live playing.

Apparently, the set for that run was:

* Rock And Roll Music
* She's a Woman
* If I Needed Someone
* Baby's In Black
* Day Tripper
* I Feel Fine
* Yesterday
* I Wanna Be Your Man
* Nowhere Man
* Paperback Writer
* Long Tall Sally

Other than Nowhere Man and Paperback Writer, I'm nonplussed. It's a shame Beatles fans ruined the playing experience for the band. Could you imagine live stuff from the White Album or Sgt. Peppers? Jesus.

Still a landmark tour.

Wow!!! Do you have a scanner? You should scan that or frame it, for sure. I'm going through the long process of scanning all of my stubs right now so I can have a photo album of all of them.

That is such a cool memory to come across.

There was one woman in the 60s who dared to wear pants, slacks actually. Mary Tyler Moore.

Also, back in those days, most of the material from Sgt Pepper's wouldn't have been possible live.

I am also glad they stopped touring. George Martin did too, because that's when they really dedicated themselves to writing and recording some of the most impressive pieces of music. They didn't need to worry about how to play things live, and squeezing in the album for tour dates. They were also able to be apart more, and not shoved into hotel rooms with each other with no way of getting out. If they were still touring after Brian Epstein died, they would have broken up before Let It Be/Get Back sessions would have even started, maybe even before the White Album.

It wouldn't have been possible to exactly replicate, but that's why it would've been cool. They could have done it differently.

Actually I couldn't tell you a single song they played, probably never heard a single note of it due to the screaming fest that was going on. I do remember the screaming was deafening. I couldn't even hear myself scream. But give me a break....I was 12 years old, only weeks away from being an official teeny bopper!

Oh, and as for the dress, our public school dress code made girls wear dresses to school. I was allowed to wear pants, but they had to be "pant suits" in 10th grade. By senior year we were allowed to wear jeans. A lot happened socially/culturally in my high school years 1968-1971. 1968 as you all know, was one of the biggest "recent" years in our country, historically speaking.

Funny you should mention GD. My deadhead friends asked me if I wanted to go with them to see them in Philly, but no way could I justify the cost of the ticket, especially since I am going to NC in May. Need to save my money for my vacation.

If you do one thing dan, get out of my lap! I know you like to sit on it, but for 3 days straight is way too much!
