Ok, who's having them and where they at? I'm thinking about throwing a party, but it's a tad late to begin planning. Maybe next year ...

I'm up the road to my buddies house to sip wine and play xbox on his 64 inch hdtv, and occaisionally soak in his hottub. Then afterwords i'm gonna take my GF back to my apartment and try to take advantage of her hehe.

Anyone have any good mellinium new years stories? I went and got very drunk at my friends house party, I wound up spending half an hour in the bushes across the street from her house because someone convinced me the cops were comming, then I went back and there was this bisexual chick who was flashing people. I wound up shagging her in my friends little sister's bed HAHA.... and then i got the rash :-(

HEHE j/k

No parties here. I'm getting up early so that I can go to the Rose Parade at oh-dark-thirty on the New Year's Day. Seeing the parade live and in person is on my list of things to do while I live in LA.

Last year I helped to decorate a float (http://www.geocities.com/tericee/rose.jpg) and then threw a not-so-great party on New Year's Eve, so I watched a replay of the parade on TV.

I'm trying to get some of my old high school buddies to come visit me for some drinking and movies. Maybe we'll try to find out where Dennis Rodman is throwing a party, he lives around here and throws some wild ones!

Do you live near Newport Beach? The news always talks about Dennis Rodman getting arrested down there, so I thought he might live nearby...

I live in Irvine, right next to Newport. But I figure there will be more to do in Newport on New Years than in Irvine.

I have a feeling this is Fluffy's sister, and If I'm right, don't you live around LA somewhere?

I live in L.A. and I'm gonna go to the rose parade. It has become a tradition (even though it only began last year) and we go the night before and sleep on the street. My friends and I hate the parade, but everything before that is a lot of fun. Last year, a man proposed to a woman standing on her balcony. It was so cool.

BTW, she said yes.

Hey pcbdmb, my sis is going to the parade as well. She mentioned it in a post to this thread earlier. You guys should hook up and take pics for the rest of us. Have fun at the parade.

Oh yeah, Kevin, Teri is my sis and she lives in Redondo Beach. I am pretty sure you guys met. She says she remembers meeting you. RU going to the parade. Jon and I are all paraded out after the Gay Pride day parade and all of that.

Thanks! There's no way I'll ever post as much as he does though. I feel like I have forever to go before I'll get even one guitar next to my user name.

Once again this year, most likely to no avail, I am going to try to take over the world at the stroke of midnight....wish me luck.

That time difference thing always fucks me up....do I make my attempt at midnight Central, Eastern, Mountain.....ah shit...

I just heard they aren't letting people camp out this year. Security and that. This is a rumor, but if I find any proof, I'll post it here.

Nevermind. I guess i was misinformed. Here's what the Police website said:

quote:
A permanent position on the sidewalk may be maintained along the parade route beginning at noon on Dec. 31. The “Blue Line” is the honor line.  All persons and property such as blankets, chairs, etc., must remain on the curb and are not permitted in the street until 11:00 p.m. on Dec. 31.   At that time spectators may move out to the honor line.  (Spectators and vehicles blocking streets without a blue line will be moved; streets without a blue line must be kept clear for emergency traffic). Overnight camping is permitted only on the night of December 31. Fires will only be permitted if it is not windy.  Fires must be in fire safe containers which are off the ground.  The Pasadena Fire Department will issue citations to violators.

I'm a complete boring dork ... I will be at home with my wife and dog. Nothing seems to be panning out well this year. Well, other than spending the new year with my wife, of course.

I spent New Year's watching the Iron Chef once. It can't get much worse than that.

On the other hand, my roommate spent New Year's 99-00 in a tent in Kosovo, where alcohol is illegal. Maybe that's worse.

Well I almost made plans to hop up to Montreal and kick it out with some thrash bands that play so hard they break bass strings like last years...Slaves on Dope show at the Station, but my friends just asked me to house and kitty sit for New Years Eve and day. They have a hot tub on a deck over looking the lake where I'll be able to see the night sky and midnight fireworks. Only ONE thing I can think of that wins out over basking in a hot tub, stars, and fireworks!! Woo Hoo! So thats where I'll be.
Happy New Year Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am gonna be spending my New Years working, as usual. I will be at 9:30 club for 2 Maceo Parker shows. My Job, Officer Buzzkill. Not really, but people have a tendency to get really wasted on New Years. What is that all about? Well sounds like the big options on the message board are tied up at 2 votes for parade and 2 votes for hot tub. Well I cast my vote for hot tub. Although I am curious at Evergreens

Just what could that be. Wish I was gonna be in a hot tub watching stars and fireworks or going to a hot tub

I was in the grandstand in front of Pasadena City College. I'm not sure where the Target is. There were a couple of very cool floats. Honda was first and it was WAY tall. I also liked the VFW float (very last one in the parade) since I helped decorate it. HGTV will be re-airing the parade a couple of times today if anyone's interested.

Fluffy might like the Bison on the City of Torrance Float toward the end.

quick quick everyone Osama Bin Laden is just after Hudson Street!!!

I thought the Target was in Afghanistan! Osama Bin Laden, Right? If you guys know something about his whereabouts it is your PATRIOTIC doody to let the powers that be know. Did he have a float in the parade too. What a great cover! That bastard is sooooo sneaky! As Jon Soldo likes to say, "Does it seem a little odd that the most POWERFUL country in the world can't catch a guy on a donkey?".

I do not believe you, I think you are hiding something, and therefore a traitor!! DEATH TO TRAITORS!!

I will will give you DUAL choices:
Would you:
A)Like to DUEL it out to the death with pistols?
B)Like DUAL electrodes attached to your testes for 1 minute? (that is
assuming you have 2 since that is what DUAL implies)

In that case, I'll have to get my deadly duo and have a double duel.

Oh man, I got sick on New Years, I got off Work at 10 and the party was well underway when I got there so I had to start drinking like a mad-man to catch up. Then when the champagne busted out at 12, that did me in. I had to do some praying to the toilet gods. Seems like soooo long ago too.
