I told you guys before about my problems. My epilepsy, bi-polar, obsessive-compulsive, immune system disorder, sever sinusitises, and possible schizophrenia.
There is now a break in the clouds of the hurricane of my life. I am now on disability! It is the first time things in my life are going right! My meds now instead of costing anywhere from $15-$100, it is now $1-$5!! I never need to worry if I can afford my medication ever again (well, not worry but fear)! Same with my doctors, I can see my specialists without worrying about a bill I cannot pay! I am getting about $750 a month, and that will be paying for bills, and eventually help with rent. I can only earn up to $900 dollars a month, though. I also can only save up to $2,000, if I save more, the government takes it and gives it out to me sparingly over a period of time. I also can get an apartment that I can afford in specialized places made for the mentally and physically disabled. The thing is that they charge only a percentage of your income, which is 1/3. I also now have quit my job at menards (which was so stressful, and I worked for just insurance, basically, and caused me minor seizures doing so) and am getting a low stress job for my health at a coffee shop!
Just thought I'd spread the joy I am having right now. I have never been happier in my life! |

Congratulations! I'll continue to pray for you regardless. That is amazing and I wish you the best of luck on this break through in your life. Somebody up there DOES like you. Just don't forget to thank that somebody. It can just as easily be taken away if you take it for granted.
Peace and God Bless. |

In my opinion this god thing has gotten really out of hand, but I'm glad things are going your way Nick! |

Okay, this "god" thing that has gotten out of hand....We could probably compare this to Rantings debate about Lennon being a genius.
I'm not sorry that I posted God bless to people on these threads, and I'm not sorry that I believe. However, with that being said I don't think that it has "gotten out of hand." I am simply sending my "prayers" if you will, or my well wishes, to the people that I feel could use them. I am not trying to force religion upon anyone, I am just stating what I believe. I don't see why the association with God is so negative like it is a virus spreading like a plague across these boards. I'd say its far better for me to say God bless or that I believe that I should wait until marriage than to post porn all over these boards. Just because you may view religion or Faith as something not worthwhile does not mean that it takes away from the things that I say. THAT connotation is all in your head.
I will continue to send God's "blessing" where I see fit. I feel that there is a God and therefore I will honor him. You choosing not to is your choice, but please realize that I am not getting "out of hand".
p.s. this isn't directed towards you Dan, but to GuitarGuy.
P.P.S. does me saying God Bless and talking about my belief in God make anybody uncomfortable on this board? I am not trying to preach or spread my beliefs. If anyone should like to discuss why I believe, I would be more than willing to share. I just recently found my own personal reasons for believing after several years of "agnosticism" and belief in a "consciousness" rather than a specific God. |

I have no idea about this god thing getting out of hand.
To me, I do not believe in a god, but by all means believe in one if you want to. One of my good friends goes to church every sunday, sings in the choir, and reads a chapter from the bible everyday. For me, that is fine. Mark just never passes judgment on me, doesn't try to force his beliefs, and won't bring it up unless you do (not saying you are doing any of these things, Enightlenthis), and we have a GREAT friendship. I also have another friend who considers Jesus as one of her best friends, and she does exactly what Mark does.
Whether you believe in a god or not, you are entitled to it. |

enlighten, one thing you should probably understand: i'm mostly a "nihilist," if that term could be said to mean anything. offending me is pretty hard to do. i don't really care how you express well wishing. if you do that through some god or other, that's cool. i don't get offended when someone expresses well wishing, or by mentioning god or anything like that. you don't want to have sex before you get married? i'm not bothered by that. not my concern, not my life, not my business. it's fun to debate god and religion and the "morals," if morals could be said to exist in any meaningful way, if both parties can manage to remain emotionally unattached from it and not get insulted and angry. i usually avoid the discussion because no one ever seems to be able to do that. |
