I know there are a couple DR fans (especially you Pam!) so I thought I'd throw this up.
Yep! Roc is a label based in the UK that has such magnificent artists like my favorite, Robyn Hitchcock. But they also have an album out called "The Cake Sale" which is essentially a collaborative album the proceeds of which go to benefit OxFam a charity as a way to encourage Fair Trade(if memory serves.) Anyways, Lisa Hannigan appears on a couple of the tracks and the album isn't released yet, but if you go to this site:

You can listen to their song "Some Surpise" in addition to a whole bunch of songs from YepRoc artists, again including Robyn Hitchcock who's "N.Y. Doll" is available. Check it out.

Ah very cool, thanks for posting this Ben!
I missed her at the last DR show I was at, but on the other hand the show was amazing in that the other musicians pushed the limits making the show edgy......is that even a word? You know what I mean...I hope, LOL!
Anyway, good to see her expanding her horizons! |

| I rarely go over to the Damien Rice boards at eskimofriends.com , but I remember a while back hearing about the cake sale with Lisa on it. I still want to know wtf happened with her and Damien. With him saying that their creative work has come to an end (or something along those lines), it sounds like there was some BIG issues there. I hope she gets in gear and starts putting out her own material soon. |
