It's story time (and bear with me, I talk a lot):
So back before the dawn of flash drives, CD burners, and DSL, those of us who are proud to be nerds and geeks used 100 mb zip drives.
Around my junior or senior year of college, the computers school bought for the labs they had specifically for the IT students (of which I was one) had zip drives installed, so the natural progression was that I started furiously downloading everything I could get my mitts on, saving it to the zip discs I bought, and bringing it home and loading it on my computer, which had a slow dial up connection.
After several hard drive crashes, mostly everything I had then is now gone.
Well, I was at our neighborhood flea market last weekend, and behold! An external zip drive, still in the box! So I bought is for the outrageous price of $2.50 and brought it home with the intent of checking out what was still saved on those old ass zip discs.
What's the point, you ask? How does this relate to Tim? I guess it really doesn't so far. But saved on one of the old discs were two video files from what I'm guessing is a college student-produced TV show: Syracuse After Hours (The author information in the files is "2001-2002 UUTV - Syracuse, NY", for what it's worth.)
Audio quality is a little muddled at times, but it's more the fault of the way the show is recorded. There's two files: one is an interview, and the other is a neat little performance. I don't remember ever seeing it before, and I thought it was worth checking out, so I came to share.
Download it here if you're interested:
