He's using his Boss DD-5 and Volume pedal to get those swells. -J

Yeah i thought the DD-5, but is that in reverse mode or just regular delay? Also what exactly does the Volume pedal do? The more you press it the lower the volume?

Well if you've never tried it, what Tim does is set his delay to his liking usually 800ms and with the volume pedal up (no sound) he picks the string and pushes the pedal down, which brings in the note but with out the nasty click sound made from the pick, allowing it to sound somewhat like a violin I guess... oh and a volume pedal is not the same as a wah pedal, but they do make pedals that do both volume and wah-wah

Care to describe the differences between wah and volume?

Volume is self explanatory... I believe wah is simply panning between bass and treble. -J
