Has anyone ever pieced together what instruments Tim's used to record with?
I guess I'm generally interested in the acoustic guitars. I guess on "Stream" he used that old Gibson J-50 (on the cover)...which I am assuming is that '64 listed on the Guitar Setup page. Similarly, I guess he used the '68 Yamaha 12-string on that album too.
Has he used the '93 D-35's and D12-28 on everything else?
Just curious... |

I'm not an expert, but I'm going to say I'm pretty sure he has just used the Martins. Definitely for albums like See Into Your Soul and Nomadic Wavelength. Probably for Gossip of the Neurons. Sanctuary is more up in the air. For Parallel Universe it could be, but maybe not as he had been switching up instruments more during that time.
It's not very conclusive, but that's all I got for ya. |

See Into Your Soul and Nomadic Wavelength, definitely his D-35 and D12-28. I know he has a classical, but I am not sure about the model. He plays You Are My Sanity with it on his DVD. D-35 only on Gossip of the Neurons (but that's pretty obvious). I would think he'd be on his Les Paul Customs on Astral Projection, but he could be using some others on there. I would think on Stream he used the Gibson he has on the front, and his older 12 string on that. |
