My piano teacher, Wells Hanley, just came back this past weekend saying he did a session with Tim Reynolds, and other musicians, doing some "pretty out" stuff. Any idea on what this session is about? I think it was with John D'earth as well, but I'm not for certain.
oh yeah, and hi guys, long time no see! Hope all has been well, i'm about to get me a diploma from undergrad, and possibly go into a masters program in Northern Colorado.
Matt! How are you? Were your ears ringing Tues night? Patrick and I were talking about you. Wish you could have been in C'ville!
Sorry, no answer for your question. Fluffy probably knows or he could ask TR. I wonder if it was Houston and Johnny? or Mike? C'ville has some really great musicians who play "pretty out" stuff!
OK, now all we need is for Jay to post and it really will feel like old times! Matt, did you see Liz is back! Yeah!!!!! Of course if not for Liz I would never have met TR or Fluffy or posted on this board! I will never forget that night in Trenton, and Liz's b'day spanks! LOL

While we were in C-ville TR did a recording session with John D'earth and Dawn Thompson. They apparently recorded 3 songs with TR plus a jam. TR also mentioned a version of The Police's Invisible Sun being recorded. Not sure if this is the jam or if it's something in addition. TR said it was alot of fun and he said at one point there were 3 guitar players going at once. TR said John was going to try and bring a copy of the recording by the show but he didn't end up being able to so he is going to send it to TR so I guess we will have to wait a bit on that one. Not clear on what the recording was for but I would assume a new John D'earth CD.

Yeah I talked to the piano player on the session, Wells, again about it. It was part of series of recordings that John D'earth is doing, featuring Tim Reynolds, John Abercrombie, John Scofield, Kurt Rosinwinkle, Jamal Millner, and Sam Wilson(who I'm playing a gig with in a few hours). I really can't wait for this to come out, especially if it's with his house group that plays at Miller's.
Wow! This sounds really amazing. I've been itching to get some new TR stuff to listen to and this sounds like it'll fit the bill. Man, TR with D'earth and Scofield is going to be stellar. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how "pretty out" it is!
