"What's Up at the BUT?"(BUT = Belly Up Tavern)
Funny sign we saw at the venue that we had never seen before. Kevin got a picture of it for us. Lots of jokes were made as you can imagine. Anyway, tonite was the most inspired set of the TouR so far. TR had mentioned this venue and Red Devil as being the inspiration for bringing along the new V for encores. He was very excited for this show to begin with and then Mason showed up to bring the crew back together for the evening. It was great to see him and you will be happy to know he videoed the complete show. I also got soundboard recordings from Martin, the soundman, who did an exceptional job as usual. We love working with him. He gave me an AIFF file which he said could be popped into protools if we wanted and he also gave us 2 discs of the semi tracked show so this one should start making the rounds just as soon as it can all be compiled. Good thing, because it was an awesome performance. Dare I say, magically. Great crowd, very quiet and respectful. TR was on the top of game, he was really feeling it this evening. I think Mason's presence may have had something to do with it. LOL Well the setlist for the evening was as follows:
Inner Space Saver Micro Coupon Captain Goldfish Ohio Betrayal The Matter The Truth Che Indoctrinate - Anti Proton March --------------------------------------------- Ode to the Box Ancestors - hp Strom Devils Bed Arroyo - Axiom? ----------------------------------------- Zero Point Counterpoint At Times, These Times, Sometimes Kundalini Mojo Jojo 3000 ------------------------------------------ Vantage Hands Full Doom Rev Ocean -------------------------------------------- Hole bye bye --------------------------------------------- Found In Space Hotel Vast Radar or Gas(?)
The highlights for me tonite were his introduction of Ode to the Box and his performance of Hotel Vast Horizon. HVH was absolutely amazing. His intro to OttB was as funny as funny could be. At least I thought so. Thanx to everyone at the Belly Up for another amazing evening.

Fluffy, I agree that Hotel Vast Horizon was very magical. I couldn't help but think the whole time that i had seen Chris play that song on that very same stage about 4 years ago with the Vast Combo which made it very special to hear Tim close with it.
It was cool meeting Ben (our cello master) at the show.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the Belly Up is by far my favorite venue. The sound is just amazing in there, and the crowds are always wonderful. Here are a few pictures:
and here is the link to the whole folder of all the pictures from that night, including an Up THE BUT shot, and evidence of Fluffy BREAKING THE LAW!!!
