OK, so I was going through my stuff, packing for college today, when I came across my old pokemon cards. I have probably close to 1000 of these fuckers, and I think I could get a good amount of money for them, maybe even a couple hundred bucks. Of this, I have no concern or trouble.
The BIG concern is this... I've stumbled across 127 square, 10 year old, excellent condition little square(wtf?) cards written in Japanese. After doing some research, reading the katakana on the card, I found out that Amada Printing MFG Co made these. This company puts out alot of trading cards, and since I can't even find any of these things on the internet, not even the words "amada pokemon cards" in the same phrase, I've concluded that these have long since been discontinued and are worth a great deal of dough. Along with this I found a bunch of Japanese versions of the more modern pokemon cards put out by MTG(or at least I think MTG is the new printing co for these).
*EDIT* The strange square cards are these: http://www.atamaii.com/pokemon-040328b.html only rather than the 2004 version, they're the 1996 version. I'm floored...
Anyways, I'm posting this up here for info, help, advice, fuckin ANYTHING you guys can say, with words, and grammar, that would aid me in my endeavours selling these cards. I'm pretty sure these are goin bye-bye on ebay, that's where I think I'll profit the most. How should I sell these though? Should I sell the rare pokemon cards separate from the common ones? How should I advertise the discontinued Japanese cards? Also, does anyone have any more info on these strange square cards?!? |

I happen to work for a company that does a lot of ebay business so here would be my advice...
Research is the key. First thing is to research what people are searching for on ebay regarding these kinds of cards. Search completed items to see what items got bid on, met reserves etc. This will give you a good idea as to deciding to list them as a lot or individually and what you should use for the title of your ad.
Next, list one or two of the rare cards by themselves to see if you get any hits. If not, you may need to do them all together in a lot. Make sure to list the auction such that it ends on a weeknight, preferrably Tues., Wed. or Thurs. around 9-10'ish eastern.
Use clear pictures of the actual cards, not stock stuff that you find on the internet. Puff up the description with words like: rare, collector's item, limited edition, out of print etc...
If you need help email me... |

post a question about maybe buying some on a pokemon forum (do they have those?) and see if anyone bites... that should give you an indication of their worth. |
