I thought this was an excellent show! I didn't get the start and end time, but I think TR played for about 2 hours, which to my memory is a touch longer than usual. I heard songs I haven't heard before, and at least one that was played for the first time at this show. The crowd was excellent. Yes there was a little bit of talking, but really not that much compared to usual shows. Something about a seated crowd just helps, in my opinion.
I don't know the setlist off hand, but I can post a picture of it. I am not sure how closely he followed it, but based on just glancing at it, I think it was relatively close. I don't think I've heard Hidden Variables live before, and I loved it. Thanks to Rew for posing the setlist for me and that guy:
You'll notice in the setlist "Hamburger"... That was TR's theme for the night, and he was saying it like Steve Martin does in the Pink Panther.. der BURGER!... funny. The screamers got Stream (as usual, of course), into You Don't Know... still I've never heard (live) Stream>Kashmir... I'd love to, or Stream(if it has to be played) into anything cool. There was one song I can't wait to see again on the dvd... Erich and the setlist bear it out as Roundabout by Yes. Reading the lyrics, I now see that that's right (of course, never doubt Erich on song names). It is a great instrumental cover of that song. He practically sings the lyrics with his guitar.
When the Levee Breaks is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs, and it was cool to hear TR do it. I like his version of other LZ songs better, but it was still cool.
Whitney nailed one of the songs... TR introduced it as the song he sings to his kids when they're going to bed: Come To Daddy by Aphex Twin. I think Fluffy said this was the first time TR has played this song in a show, too. Very cool. People were tripping out about this one.
James Brown's Cold Sweat was great... played at other shows (all the time) but it was funny to hear it and see TR do it.
Probably one of my favorite songs played was another cover... and I had no idea what the song was, just that it was for sure not something TR wrote. Jeepster by T. Rex. Just about as close to a country sound as I've ever heard out of TR. Well I mean, it WAS country. Period. And it was fantastic!
I really just did not get many pictures worth posting. The doorman said that since we were on the guestlist, we couldn't take the paying customer's seats... I (and I think most of the rest of us too) would have gladly paid and got situated front and center, but the show was sold out, so we really couldn't. Anyway, the place was small and we could all see fine. This is exactly how far away I was: It was very cool getting to meet quite a few of the board members here. Erich, namely, since he's been around so long and we hadn't yet crossed paths... and Whitney, also from the board but somewhat new here (but a TR fan for years). I highly recommend Whitney's 50 cent post-show show. :)
Not sure who'd just farted here, but Whitney sort of has that "no I'm really innocent" look on her face....
Empirical evidence that Fluffy Sucks.
Whether or not he swallows, I do not know. The girl in the white jacket directly between Fluffy and Erich is Canadian, eh. I took this picture thinking it'd be a sweet menu picture for a dvd of the show. I don't think it turned out good enough for that.
I could not agree more:
Pictures of fans and TR after the show: And finally, me and another board member... DaRavyn, one very cool guy. Thanks for the ride man. And I'm very sorry I woke you when I called on Saturday, I felt pretty bad about that...
Rew, thanks for the adult beverage. Fluffy, thanks for getting me and Ken on the list! Erich, nice to finally meet you man, it's been a long time coming. Whitney, the pleasure was all mine. Brian, quit drinkin' man.
Oh, and of worthy note is that the show was taped by at least three cameras. One guy was elbow-tripoding it on the front row with a handicam. The other guy is the videographer for Ratdog, and was using the cameras he uses for them to tape TR. He had two cameras, one set up in back by the soundboard, one set up just to TR's left. Both great shots. Three audios (mic on front row cam, sbd into second cam, and sbd to minidisc). I don't know that one of the audios will get released separate from the dvd, but we can hope. Also it's this guys business to do it when he pleases, so patience will yield a great product, I'm sure.
Anyone wanting their picture removed, just let me know. Anyone wanting higher resolution of any of these pics, just let me know. The pic here are much reduced...
I was going to post this in the thread for this show, but now that I spent so much time writing the review, I'm just going to start a new thread for it. Feel free to merge it if you have to... |

Wow Jason, this is by far the best review I ever read! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! Love the pictures too! Since it is doubtful I will make it to the Lancaster show as planned, I was thrilled be able to read your review! I too like shows where you can sit and smaller venues. Apparently the Lancaster show is standing room only with limited seating. The seating areas have no view of the stage. That sucks!
BTW I am a big fan of Ratdog. One of my friends is a close friend of Mark Karan so if that guy is their videograher, I should be able to get a copy of it from him. I saw Ratdog in Sept and had the time of my life! My friend introduced me to Mark and we hung out with him before and after the show. |

Very cool, and nice pics of the fans. My friend Craig and I are the first two pictures there you had. Thanks for those. My pics from the show, as I posted in the other thread are here:

Also, I was very close right up front and I took a video of Stream for a friend that is here:

Yeah it's fun to meet up with people from the board. I guess I have met quite a few by now... Erich might still have me, but it'd be close I think... You should have said what's up, it'd have been cool to meet you.
Thanks for the pictures. What kind of camera was that? I'm relatively sure I saw you up there taking pictures... Looked like a sweet camera. |

It was done, but it may only come out in the dvd, whenever that's done. Like I said above, it was recorded three ways, but they're all tied to the dvd in some way, so maybe that's the only way we'll see it.
PJK, there's no hurry getting the dvd from the guy who filmed. If we need to hear the audio and get a setlist and all that, then it'd be better to wait than have the dvd immediately. I'm just saying, we'd rather have a great dvd than a quick dvd.... so there's NO hurry. |

great pics and review! Thanks for sharing
First..THanks to Tim,FLuffy and crew for being some call ass mofo's.
The show was a blast and was glad to hear a full acoustic set. Last year tim played a an acoustic/electric set.
I am the one who filmed the show with 2 pro camera's. I taped the show in 24P which is the same as film. It'll look like a movie not TV show/soap opera. I work for les claypool and he suggested us getting these movie camera's..since then i scored a job with bob weir, thanks to jay lane. Bob and les share the same drummer. (jay)
ANyhow...the video angles look awesome and the sound turned out real well. The show was rather dark due to a stage light being turned off . I guess it was causing a buzz so they had to kill one of the 2 lights
I am in the middle of editng the video and just made a matrix mix of my 2 audio sorces. It sounds pretty good...but during the begining alot of people were chit chatting. COMEONE People...why the need to talk while the power of tim reynolds is melting your face off?
Towards the end the annoying people left and all was nice and quiet. some drunk guy next to me during the first part if the show was talking real loud saying "your mom's hot"etc..I can hear it on my audio for a good 2minutes. If you read this...Next time go outside if you feel the need to chit chat during tim's guitar shred's.
thanks jeremy
i'll keep all posted with an update. Tim and fluffy get the video's first before i share . SO be patient kids

Awesome Jeremy, I'm glad you posted here.... if I can help in any way please let me know. I'd love to see the dvd have the setlist included in the menu, and if I can help provide that setlist (the actually played one, not the stage list), I'd love to!
Thanks also for the very fast turnaround! I'm surprised and pleased! I know it's a lot of work, but you must be an old hand at it to get it working this fast. I saw another of your TR dvds, and I like it too! I hope to have a copy soon... I feel you on getting TR and Fluffy a copy first.
Thanks again man, it was cool to meet you, and thanks for taping!

Thanks for the clip. I have a bunch of pictures, probably about 75MB. Can I just zip them and email them, or would that file be too big?
On the audio, if you want to make a small mp3 of the whole show I can give a shot at giving you an accurate setlist. Be glad to.
Whitney, thanks for the pic! I don't even remember you taking that one, for sure. Got any other good ones? |

My camera is a Panasonic DMC-LZ2. It's 5 megapixels with 6x optical and 4x digital zoom. Needless to say with how close I was I didn't really need any of the zoom,
I just got it at Christmas from my parents - my mom is really into cameras and picked it out for me and I was very surprised by it. It's been amazing so far, definately everything I wanted in a camera. I'm really still learning about how to utilize some of the different options and I took a lot of pictures at the show and very few turned out nonblurry and with enough light. I really like black and white pictures but when Tim turned out the buzzing light it really hurt any of those turning out well. If I could have used the flash it would have been better but I didn't want to distract Tim or tick anyone off.
I'm just happy I'm getting good pictures now. The first time I took any pictures I think maybe one turned out well. Who knows, by the time Tim swings through the midwest again I could get some really kick ass ones. |

There is a picture of the complete setlist for the show in enthuTIMsiast's first post on this thread. As TR often deviates from the printed setlist, enthuTIMsiast also offered to, ahh hell, you can read it for yourself: quote: Awesome Jeremy, I'm glad you posted here.... if I can help in any way please let me know. As mentioned... this show was awesome! Great setlist and performance by TR, as usual. I loved hearing him do Torch. That's turned into my new favorite tune by TR. It was also cool hearing him do When the Levee Breaks and of course DOOM is always great.
It was nice meeting new folks from this board also. I finally had the privledge of meeting Fluffy. You weren't with the crew last time you all came through AL but I'm glad I finally got to meet you. I also met Erich, Whitney, Rob, and drunk guy. Sorry, forgot your name dude but you were hilarious. I wish I could have stayed and hung out with you guys after the show but I felt like a bucket of ass. I had to cut the trip short and miss the show in Athens the following night because I just couldn't go on. Anyway, Jason pretty much covered everything in his review so I don't have a whole lot to add. Keep rockin out guys and I hope to see you all again very soon. Be safe... |

Ok proper time has passed time for my input of this concert.
Considering I didnt have a car until 2 pm that day and drove 5.5 hours to Dayton the show was fuckin awesome. I cant wait to see the film that took from that show. The audience was perhaps one of the best things at that venue, very intimate setting. I do think they should have turned Tim up a notch though, but really no complaints.
It was great to meet more people from the board Jason and Kenneth, you guy are some cool cats, I'm glad I got to meet you, I'm sure we will see each other again at some concerts soon. Whit, always a good time, was that concert 4 or 5 this tour?? And yes B was the drunken guy at the concert but all good, its all good..... Fluffy and Rew thanks for everything, always fun hangin iwht you guys for a evening. And is it just me or did Tim play a LOT of Hopeful Heresy at this concert?!? LOL woo what a riot.
Good job on all the pics too Enthusist. I can't stop laughing at some of them, I had a good time at this show with everyone. That pic with Fluffy and Erich, I just remember the "Wondering Brain" sludging away around the floor in the front. And I think I might want a couple of your pics too in fll reso. also, they came out great.
the ride home definatly sucked, but Tim left us with a good cover song too "Come to Daddy" and Kundalini. I had a good time with everyone, always more good times to come too Thanks to everyone who made it a great show also.

Jeremy, I have some video for you if you'd want any of it for the dvd. About 40 minutes worth. I'm posting a sample clip on yousendit right now but its taken a while so I'll put up the link later. Some of it is a little shaky since I was usin the 'ol elbopod but overall it came out ok. Note to self, don't forget the tripod.

(posted by blsc1121 2/25/06) quote: What did everyone think of the show last night?
It was my second Tim show (first one was last year at CST) and I thought it was excellent. Tim seemed really on and being up front seeing him tear up some of those solo's was awesome. I personally enjoyed last night's show more than the one this past summer at CST but I am also more of an acoustic fan so that could have had something to do with it.
I have a few pics that turned out well and I have a video of Stream. My friend loves that song and asked me to get a video for her - she's a huge D&T fan so that's about the only song she knows.
We also got the chance to meet Tim after the show and he was very humble and a nice guy as usual, as always, it was an excellent show.

I think they were with Mike Genovese the opener. So once he was done all they did was talk, so annoying. Anyway TIM was amazing as usual. My girlfriend couldn't believe how talented TIM is. She was blown away. Even though I have seen TIM before I was still blown away as well. Great versions of From this world, come to daddy, stream, indoctrinate, levee breaks, and some Isacc Hayes song and much more I cant remember right now i'll have to look at the set list again but the show kicked ass.

I'm not that good at photography, only had my didgital camera since Christmas and had never really taken pictures before that. I experimented around with different setting and with flash and no flash. I tried for no flash a lot because I was right up front and didn't want to distract Tim when he was playing difficult stretches.

Also, here's my video of Stream, I had posted it on Ants earlier but I think it's still working, if it goes down let me know and I'll try to reup tomorrow. The video is very dim as the lights were turned down and it's not very great quality because it was with my camera.

I remember specifically, actually. Due to someone else taping, Rob didn't tape. I don't know about the other tape, or if/when it'll surface, but the guy has done a great dvd for us before. |

Yep, yep, it was a friend of the "house". He recorded the last show at that venue and passed me a copy at the most recent show. I think it's the one you and I watched a bit of that nite Jason. I am sure I have his contact info with that show info. But you are correct, Rob did not record because he was, video and audio. I am sure it's safe, it's just a matter of TIMe as I never seem to actually receive anything in a very TIMely manner. LOL |
