I have all of my TIM albums in iTunes but the CDs are several hours away so I can't scan their covers in. On the internet I have only been able to find very small, low resolution cover art images for TIM's albums. I particularly need larger images for Stream, See Into Your Soul and Gossip of The Neurons. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. |

The problem is that those images are tiny. They end up looking awful in iTunes. They look even worse when I use Front Row. I'm looking for larger images. |

Thanks but if you look at the artwork there, the albums that I specifically need have tiny artwork images or aren't available at all from Amazon. Hence, my conundrum. |

What you need is somebody with a scanner and all the actual DVD covers. I have a couple or three of them (if I can find them) and I just bought a scanner, so I'll make those images my first priority... But don't hold your breath, please.

I didn't want to say anything....cause i'm new here......but it appears you are right Chris. some of the responses on various threads by regulars is a little disheartening. Tim seems so cool and nice and smart and talented and hot and funky and....it just surprises me. the welcome committee is somewhat selective too! oh well I love you Tim....play away! bye bye |

I am certainly not going to try and defend the whole board because I also feel that alot of folks responses are rude and certainly not a wonderful way of connecting with new fans or new members of the board, BUT I think you must have missed the post by Tericee where she offered to help: quote: What you need is somebody with a scanner and all the actual DVD covers. I take particular offense to your "governed by elitest assholes" since noone really governs the board. I guess if anyone was to say who governed it it would be me and I am certainly not an "elitest asshole" in fact I have gone further than anyone to make the peace on the board. I can't control everyone of course and I don't play the censor. It wouldn't be an open forum if I did. I am certainly not condoning some folks behavior but at the same TIMe maybe some folks need to have a bit thicker skin. First TIMe posters usually don't have the background of what alot of the regulars have had to endure from alot of the visitors to this site. It is no surprise that they are defensive. Hopefully this thread will go along way to helping you understand alot of folks position on the board and why they are so defensive.

I also hope that Maraika will take a minute and read the above thread, it should also address her comments in this thread as well.
And welcome aBOARD Maraika, always nice to have new members who post, hope you stick around. |

First and foremost I apologize to you Fluffy. I was a little harsh and indirect with my comment, and since you, are technically the one who has the most power on this board, that would make you in charge, but definitely not the target of my comment; I was too hasty to reply and instead had in mind the unofficial power that is given by freedom of speech. I understand that I bear a crown of negativity, but thats my own fault, and either way I was trying to get a point across, which I still stand behind. also, i'll be a little more careful on the delivery portion of my messages. Instead of feeding the fire which is obviously what i did, i'll work on rectifying the situation in the most peaceful manner. |

Hey Chris, no worries, I understand your frustration as I someTIMes share it. I think some folks answers to some of the first TIMe posters can also be attributed to your answer: quote: I was too hasty to reply and instead had in mind the unofficial power that is given by freedom of speech.
In which case, they bear the "crown of negativity" and it is entirely their own fault and no reflection of the board as a whole. I am sure if some of them went back and looked at their comments they would realize this. It's why I like people to address individual comments as opposed to making blanket comments about everyone here at the board. I am sure we have some here that would fall under you banner, but doesn't every message board. I have encouraged people on numerous occasions to think about the way they respond to new possible members but unfortunately I think most here expect people to post once and dissappear, and you are right, the way alot of them are greeted it almost insures that they will only post once. Kinda of ironic and sad as I read the threads where people complain about the board being slow. Well without new members it will probably stay that way. Hopeful they will figure it out the correlation at some point. |

I would have to say in comparison to other boards, I've never seen a board where consistently people are welcomed on a regular basis. Although a few posts have been a bit harsh,in general people here treat new people and each other better than anywhere I've EVER seen on the net.On some DMB boards I would ask myself if these people could possibly be listening to the same band I was. It's kinda like road rage some folks have no problem flipping you off as they drive away, but to your face they would never ever say a word.On the same token it's easy to not exercise the same etiquette you would in real life sitting thousands of miles away behind a computer. But then again maybe some people are just genuinely buttwipes. |

well it looks as if it might take more than a minute to read the reference regarding regulars being defensive and why. but thank you for the link. just a gentle reminder......if you are asking that new people have thicker skin maybe the "regulars on the defense" should also take the advice.....just a thought. not that i want to haggle cause i'm here to learn more about Tim and have access to more of his music. If i offended anyone it wasn't meant that way. I was simply making an observation. You may slam me all you want. At least i didn't make a mindless reference to dmb when hovering around on a Tim Reynolds board. I rock!

i also found some of the caustic responses uncalled for. sure, reaming someone out some clown for a ridiculous comment or post is fine by me. let's be honest, i'm probably one of the asshole regulars who fall under the "elitist asshole" category. but something that irks me is the responses some new people get just for asking a simple question about a cd or tour date or some shit. especially if they're a dmb fan.
you can fight me on this if you want and then watch me not care, but i think some of the more up-ass tim reynolds fans here that screech like banshees when someone says timmy instead of tim, or some other inconsequential thing like that need to just, you know, put a damned sock in it. i know everyone loves the tr task force, as you'd have it, and they do some good. but really, i consider them more or less oversentitive fans who hate that some people aren't as knowledgable, or god forbid, not "real fans" of tr's music. yeah, it sucks when some one says something wrong and ignorant about tr or his music, but you know what? instead of coming off as an elitist asshole, you could be thankful you not stupid know good music when you hear it and move on. because if a bunch of fucks are all wrong about tr, then it turns out his music is just as good. it's not some damned crusade. inform, sure. but righteous anger? not really a great response.
this guy here? he wanted some images. he wasn't being an asshole. he wasn't spamming. he just wanted some pictures for itunes. and some people had to give him shit. save it for people who deserve it. there's a time and place for it. |

I was actually addressing ALL groups involved.
Another thing to consider is that alot of folks personalities are exhibited here on the board and alot of them at first glance, to someone who does not know these folks, may make their response appear coarse and abrasive, while regulars just recognize it as so-and-so's usual way of responding. Alot of different kinds of folks make up this board. The longer you stick around the more you will see that peoples tones and comments are usually just what you would expect from each individual. For better or for worse. LOL I would love it if everyone was more receptive, but I guess it's just not in some folks nature. Hopefully some will stick around long enuf to see what I mean. |
