Friday night I attended Stick Night '05 which was in Hollywood at the Knitting Factory and featured our very own Greg Howard. For those not familiar with Greg, he plays an instrument called the chapman stick, and this is a yearly convention where many of the nation's stick players gather, and have a concert. As always, Greg kicked ass. I picked up a new version of his first solo cd Stick Figures which he just remixed and remastered. He also said that since it is his 20 year anniversary of playing the stick, he will reissue a bunch of stuff this year, so who knows... maybe we'll see some of his old work with Tim Reynolds surface. I mentioned that I'd love to see Transmigration remastered and reissued, and he agreed.
Did you happen to see/hear Don Schiff? I was just curious as to what tricks he pulled out this year. He also used to be my Stick teacher before I moved out to Las Vegas...
