During the song "Little Torch" or "Firefighter" (depending on whether or not you listen to Rocket House or the Live album), Chris Whitley sings:
"Like a million to one,

As bright as you want to

(?)Now I'm 'bout to rise and run(?)
..."
The lyric between the question marks is the one I have a hard time understanding. That's the closest transcription of it I can get. Anyone have any ideas? I'm looking at you Kevin, or maybe you Fluffy if you get a spare moment to look at the boards. |

| Firefighter...Little Torch is just as good, but I prefer live solo over just about anything. Poison Girl is case in point. Live at Martyrs has been in my stereo for three months, no joke. |

| Hey Jay, There is a "Poison Girl" EP that came out in support of "LWTL". It is solo acoustic versions of songs from "LWTL" and as the name would imply, there is a solo acoustic version of Poison Girl that I think might be the definitive version. You can find it on ebay periodically and also in used CD shops. If you don't have any luck, I do have a copy and may be able to burn you a copy. It is out of print. Hope you can find it, you will definitely enjoy it. As for Firefighter or Little Torch, I prefer FireFighter as the title. Little Torch makes me think of a Hendrix song, Firefighter brings nothing to mind but CW. |
