"9.12.2004 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco is the second installment of Dave Matthews Band's new live series and is now available for preorder as a 3-CD set or as a digital download in MP3 or FLAC format."

Interesting...these live CDs seem to be flying out. Wasn't there supposed to be a D+T live DVD from Purdue? Wonder what happened to that. Was really hoping they'd continue to release the older shows. They seem to be going slightly downhill lately. Still love the band, but Sugar Will, Crazy Easy and Hello Again bore me half to death.

I'd say that this past year was one of their better touring years in recent memory. Since Everyday '03 was the best year though.

I'm kind of dissapointed that Golden Gate Park won't be released through stores.

If they keep announcing new albums the day after one is released as they did this time, they're going to run their fan base out of money in no time. Over on some of the DMB boards there are people that haven't even gotten their 12-8-98 discs that already preordered Golden Gate.

My favorite tour of theirs ever is the tour the 12-8 and "live in chicago" shows came from, the 1998 tour with our man Tim Reynolds.

2000 was good too.

I hope they release some D&T shows from the '99 tour.

Their first live release of this collection, which is from the '98 tour has Tim on it, and quite prominently. (Bela Fleck is on there as well) Tim really makes the release in my opinion- his solo on Last Stop is particularly phenomenal. I'd have to say this release is from one of their best 2-night stands ever, and it was well worth the purchase.

The 2004 was definitely one of their best in recent years. I can't wait til the 2005 tour!

I can't agree that 2004 was better than any other year(s). The new songs bore me, frankly...with a slight exception of Joyride, although it has a JTR type feel to me. I only saw four shows this last tour, but I wasn't extremely impressed. Except for SPAC night 1. That show ruled. The return of Recently/Song That Jane Likes to steady rotation is welcomed with open arms, but it just didn't "feel" like the DMB of old to me.

DMB in concert bores me lately anyway, new songs or not. That's why I love when Tim is with them. He adds so much more life and color to their songs. The same is true for other guests they have. The guests make the release worth buying. I was thinking back to the 12/17/98 show I was at, and how much better DMB was back then compared to now. So much more energy.

I think they have as much energy as they have ever had. Look at the direciton they have started taking older material in, especially "Too Much". They've started turning their four minute standards, into five or six minute songs, with tighter jamming in the middle. I still look forward to a twenty minute jam, like Sugar Will which was ruined by Santana in San Fran, but the shorter songs are getting meatier every tour.

also i'm sure (maybe) they were smaller venues and i always think the smaller it is the more emotion you feel with it in some cases like if i compared the T&D concert i went to in 03 or whenever to a past hershy the energy at T&D concert was much more... but i dunno i still want that cd from them in MA.. don't care much for san fran one though... i wanna see stuff liek the lost acoustics start to come out...

SPAC Night 1 was my favorite night of the tour, hands down... I got my first PIG- and as an opener too! I saw 10 shows this tour, including one Vote for Change. I have to disagree with you about the new songs, I think Hello Again is a great song! The only one I don't care for is Sugar Will, which I think wastes 11 minutes a show!

Sugar Will bores the life out of me. I can't stand up for Crazy Easy either. Hello Again just doesn't have any flow to it, it bores me too. Joyride is alright...much more in their "vein". SPAC night 1 was stellar. The BOWA/Billies closer was ridiculous. First BOWA for me in the last 3 years, with approximately 25 shows in between. Night 2 sucked in comparison, although that might have something to do with the fact that I was ridiculously sick. By the time they finished Stay at the end of the show, I was in my car heading back to Buffalo.
