| I couldn't make it half way through that video. To me music videos are just stupid unless it's of a performance. I like music and that's more of a listening thing than a seeing thing. The music on that video isn't my bag. It's just a beat with Eminem talking about himself. Has anyone ever noticed how obsessed the guy is with himself? |

i think rap has a potential to move music in a new direction. music has stagnated long enough. the problem is, rap continues to focus on words and not music, and that's pretty much shooting itself in the foot. i don't think i mind rap vocals. i mean when you think about it, it's just reducing the voice to a rhythm instrument. there's plenty of solid music out there with no melody in the vocal part. i don't think that's the problem. the problem is rap so far as just churned out the same shit for years because no one's tried pushing the musical end of it.
i don't know how many indie kids are on the board, but don't give me that kanye west shit. he's for hipsters who think they're too fucking cool like something as kitschy and mainstream as rap. he's no different from fucking nelly or anyone else. if you want to listen to rap, just listen to it and get it over with. |

| Ya, but I have to say I liked outcast's last album a lot. Not just the stuff that got on top 40 but the album as a whole. The best stuff on there I found everyone else hated that I know. I know some of you have seen or heard of MC Divinity and she has potential to really change the rap world. She raps and plays the bass at the same time and she can freestyle pretty good too. Plus her album kinda sounds like a fusion thing and sometimes reminds me of rage against the machine. It's not there yet but I think she is headed in the right direction. I'm into people performing though and doing things with insruments and not just rapping to a programed beat or some DJ on his turntables even though some of those guys are performers and they are pretty sick too. |

I'm sure those "Tax Cuts For The Wealthy" really erk Eminem. I heard that Bill Gates, Russel Simmons and Donald Trump were all really upset about that, too.
