There is so much equivocation about the nature of this show. I want to go so badly, but I don't know: 1: if there will be tickets available at the door 2: if I can get my 20-year old friends through the door (my history with the GSP as a minor wasn't successful) 3:when the set time is (one website says 6, GSP website says 7, TR website says 8:30

JFP, I am going tonight and can't get there before 7. I seriously doubt TIM will be playing before then, probably closer to 8:30. This is supposed to be an 18+ show.
Call the venue, they can answer all of your questions. The number is 215-483-7084. If it is sold out and you don't live far from the venue, email me and we can exchange cell phone #'s. I will see if Fluffy can get you in on the guest list.
I am calling the venue to confirm the set time. The office is open at 1:00pm. I will ask about age and tickets too. If I find out anything, I will post it on here. Hope to see you tonight! |

I called about 7 or 8 times but they never picked up the phone. I got an email from the guy saying that it is a 21+ show ( to the dismay of my friends and this website, I suppose).
I dearly hope that I can get into the show. Gotta run all day, Pam email me at wfrogstomp@yahoo.com if you have any updates! -matt |

yay! Grape Street! I was happy that I wouldn't have to drive to Wilkes Barre too! I haven't seen Tim for a couple of years.. I saw him in San Juan Capistrano at the Couch House before I moved to PA. That was like 2 yrs ago.. I'm so excited! I've been trying to bring my man to see Ryan Montbleau as well as Tim.. I'm so happy we'll get to hear both tonight! woohoo.

I called the venue and here is the scoop:
It is 21+, tickets are still available but be there by 6-6:30 if you need tickets. Tim will be on stage between 8 and 8:30.
Hope to see many of you there. |

What an awesome show!!! I got there pretty early and was able to get tickets. The first opener was decent, but unfortunately got way outshined by Ryan Montbleau. That guy is supremely talented and I hope to see him again.
Tim came out and acted so goofy. He was rambling words that nobody understood, but we were all having a good time. He definitely dipped into the psychedelic influence tonight with the delay and volume pedals. We were treated to a bunch of classic tunes like Jemez Rolling Waves, Hopeful Heresy, Strainger in a..., And then they..., and flourescence. Tim also busted out some awsome cover tunes, including an arrangement of Come Together that brought the place down. Later on in the night, he played and sand "All You Need is Love" and this really brought the entire morale up for the whole venue. It was so nice. Then.... The electric. TR was a total rock star with the strat, as he blew our knuckles off with the fierce shredding and power riffs of the electric guitar.
There was a relatively constant low level of noise throughout the show that was kinda annoying at times, but it didnt ruin the evening. I had a wonderful time and I'm sure a bunch of you all did as well. I hope TR loved the venue... because then he'll wanna come back soon! |

Great review JFP! I can add that he played Indoctrinate and Hornets Nest too. Sorry I didn't get to meet you, Matt.
I did get to meet Kundalini69, his cousin from California, and friends. Awesome guys, very fun. Glad you got to shake Tim's hand and get his autograph on the cd!
I didn't arrive early. (Mental note, if I want to go somewhere with my daughter, tell her we have to leave an hour before the actual TIMe!)
So we arrived, probably around 7:45. We got drinks and stood down by the stage when Fluffy went past. I said hi, he said hi and rushed by. A few minutes later he came back. He told me the bad news, that the venue booked 3 more bands after the TIM and they had to rush out right after the show! I had something for him for his upcoming birthday and I asked him if he could take it back then in case I didn't see him after the show. Instead he said "follow me" and he lead my daughter and I back to the green room. It was nice, just TIM, Fluffy, Rew and someone I didn't know who I assume worked at the club.
My daughter was blown away by how down to earth TIM is. We stayed there until a few minutes before the show started. Rew, gave us tickets for free drinks! Woohoo. (After the show he gave us 2 more!) I was fine to drive home, but feeling no pain! LOL My daughter, who had more to drink than I did talked non-stop all the way home! She had a blast!
Before I forget, there was a guy from antsmarching who vidio taped the show, all but a few minutes of it. I asked him to please tell me he would make it available for others and he said he would via that site, so those of you who go over there, keep your eyes out for it.
Oh, best part for me was watching TIM play the guitar with his teeth! God that was amazing! I could sit for hours and just watch him play.
I agree with Matt that the low chatter throughout the show was annoying. I picked a bad place to stand as well, in the path of the rest rooms! I finally wised up and moved to side stage.
After the show we hung around with Kundalini and crowd for a while. I always have as much fun meeting board members as I do seeing TIM. TIM fans are the best! BTW Kundalini, talking with you guys really made my daughters first TIM experience a great one! Now that I think of it, I hope Wendy knows how lucky she was. How many people get TIMe alone with TIM, Fluffy and Rew in the green room at their first TIM show?
As we headed across the parking lot to Main Street, Wendy was breaking out in dance to the music of the next band that was playing when she yelled "Mom!" I turned around to look at her and there was Fluffy, calling me from the window of the van. I thought they had left. We went back over to the van and chatted some more. Then we said our good-byes, thanked TIM again for a great show and walked to our car.
It was the perfect night, made all the more special because I got to experience it with my daughter. One of life's great joys is sharing your passions with your children.

sooo awesome!!! I loved the Beatles covers! that was so great! My man loves the Beatles, so that was a nice treat! and yes, I agree with everyone else... the hum of people talking was annoying, but not enough to let it get to you or ruin your night. I was excited for my man to see both Ryan and Tim! Ryan plays PA often.. but he's from Boston. I try to catch his shows anytime he's in PA. Grape Street was a cool venue. We had a fantastic time! |

I forgot to ask, Erich, what happened to you? Fluffy said you didn't make any of the shows! That is so unlike you, just wondering if everything is OK.
Also, Bugman, didn't see you either. Did you make it to the show?
Oh, and I agree with everyone, the venue was nice and the chatter didn't ruin the show at all. I am still running on a TIM high! Manayunk is a great part of the city. |

I'm the guy from antsmarching that taped the show. I made a thread in the taping section, i dont know how many people saw it.
http://www.timreynolds.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5259
It has a video clip in there from my recording. I got the last 50 min of the set on tape ... I would've had the whole thing but I arrived a little late ... It was a very cool show though. I had a great view, also picked up a copy of Nomadic Wavelength afterwards and got it autographed by Tim as he was leaving. He seems like a real nice guy.
Oh and can someone post the setlist from last night b/c I dont know the names of all the songs he played to label them for the video. Thanks! |

Last night was definitely a night I will NEVER forget. My friends and I got there early and caught the opening acts, and were able to get a spot up front for when Tim came out. The show was fantastic...Tim was in a real goofy mood and had a couple hilarious moments. The hightlight of the show was definitely when he played the electric with his teeth....and it still sounded good! I can just picture the dental bills if I tried something like that. Anyway, as I posted last week after the Wilkes-Barre show, Tim was standing next to me at one point, but I was too nervous to say anything and didn't get to meet him. I kinda had a pessimistic view of my chances of getting to meet him in Philly just cause of the size of the crowd. However, after the show, one of the crew gave me Tim's pick as they were packing up his stuff....I totally freaked out. I then went to the table where CDs were being sold, and ran into PJK and started talking about the show etc. Just then, Tim darted past me carrying his guitars out to the van. I ran outside where he was shaking hands with a few other fans, and I finally got that handshake! I went back in and bought a copy of Nomadic Wavelength, and then noticed Tim was signing autographs outside. So I ran out, got another handshake, and he signed my Nomadic Wavelength...but he signed it before I could take the plastic off, so I had to buy another copy so I could actually open it. Two handshakes, an autograph, and his pick more than make up for my disappointment from last week. If only I had remembered my camera... |

Hey DMBand520, thanks so much for taping the show! Unfortunately my computer is having some problems and I couldn't play the clip you have. Hopefully I will get it fixed this week and can view it.
As for the set list,I wanted to get one that night. Fluffy said someone taped the show by the soundboard and had a copy of the set list, but after the show I never located the person. I will try to get one from Fluffy (I always depend on Erich for this as he is ALWAYS at the shows I go to, but he didn't show, much to my dismay!)
JFP, I thought he played Impermanence too?
Anyway, I will try to get you a copy of the setlist, just don't know how long it will take. I am just thrilled that you taped it! I am so glad you came to the show. I also hope you won't make yourself scarce on these boards! |

I'm sure that upon watching the tape, any of us could identify the songs. It won't be too difficult. |

In the chaos that was the GS street show, I somehow missed getting the audio tapers info. If memory serves, I think his name was Josh. I got a soundboard patch for him, but now I don't know how to get a hold of him. Hopefully he is a lurker on the board as he knew my name and came looking for me at the show about the sndbrd patch. Everyone keep your eyes open as I would also like to get a copy of this show. If you are out there Josh, please chime in. THANX |
