Everytime you here a different version of the same song by Tim, he's always got something new. For that matter, even if you listen to a whole set he implements different cool sounds to every song.
My question to you all, is what part of his style is your favorite.
I like his slap guitar as well as when he plays so fast its almsot like the note evr even happened. |
Tim, come to Canada! |

Well I love when he shreds, especially on acoustic, because that's more difficult than shredding on electric (Malmsteen/Vai).
But I mostly love when he just goes off with the delay and stuff, and just improvs and everything builds and is all spacey sounding. Pretty much like most of the Gossip Of The Neurons album.

I would say ELECTRIO style. (Electric with Houston and Johnny) That was just straight up kick you in the ass Rock and Roll. |

Probably my favorite thing I've heard Tim do is that version of impermanance from that show in 92 I believe. I really like his effects he uses with the acoustic. I really like everything he does though so it's hard to pick a favorite. |

it depends on the mood for me. Like after I'm done playing bass with my friends I love his slappin' jappin' crappin' style. When I get home, I love to hear his spacey stuff (Gossip of the Nuerons) (also good when your pissed/sad/depressed.) Something to get me pumped up are his super really fast and complicated songs (like Kundalini Bonfire and Big Blast of Hot Air)
each style he does seems to reach a certain spot in my soul, as if almost the music is speaking to me... I guess that's why I love his music so much |

Favorite acoustic style: The fast finger picking, finger lickin' goodness. I.E. Rheginos, Jemez.
The stuff he does at the end of Los Alamos, where he tremolo finger picks the one string, then plucks out the bass line. That blows my mind and gives me shivers.
Electirc stuff: The hard driving, head pounding rock n roll straight up. Like Backdoor. That one with the rest of TR3 seriously blows some gaskets. |

personally, my jaw is closest to the floor when tim fingerpicks a shredding solo on the 12 string acoustic ( think stranger in a strained land improv) faster than other players on electric guitars.
