Kind of as a test to myself to see if I could do it, as well as the want to play it, here's my interpretation of TR's interpretation of Peter Gabriel's San Jacinto, both versions of which I've recently come to be obsessed with. I kind of ran out of steam towards the end, so if anyone wants to finish up the last parts, have a go at it.
==================================================================
Tim Reynolds - San Jacinto (Peter Gabriel) Tab by Eric Ahlstrom Tuning: Standard
I tabbed this song from the specific performance listed below at the Music Archive: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=4703
Intro Riff (with delay) Note: Same riff is repeat later, minus effects (0:00-0:35) -----7-9-4------------------- ---5--------7---------------- -4------------6-4------------ ------------------(Repeat)--- ----------------------------- ----------------------------- OR -----9-------- ---12-9------- --9----11----- -9-------11-9- -------------- --------------
Bassline/Main Riff (bass slaps) Note: This gets used almost everywhere as filler, and I'll put an X where it might go at the end of a segment (0:35-0:46) ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ----------(1)(1)(1)-(1)--/4-- -4--4-4-X--2--2--2---2---/4-- -4--4-4-X--2--2--2---2------- -2--2-2-X--0--0--0---0-------
Main lyric part ("Medicine man lead me up...") (0:46-1:10) ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ---4-4---2/4-4/6---(6)------- ---4-4---2/4-4/7---(7)------- -2-----0---------0-0--0-0----
(cont.) -------------------X ------------------- ------------------- ---6-6-4-2-4-4----- ---7-7-4-2-4-4----- -0-----------2-----
Another lyric part (1:11-1:18) ---------------------------------------- ---5-5-4-0--0---4-4-4-4-2-0-2--2-0-2-4~- ---4-4-4-2--2---4-4-4-4-2-2-2----------- ------------4-------------4------------- ---------------------------------------- -2-2-2-2-0--0-0-2-2-2-2-0-0-0-----------
More Lyric parts (1:23-1:28) ----------------------------X ---------------------------- --2-2-2-1~----4------------- --------------4---7\6\4----- ---------------------------- -2-2-2--0~------------------
Part similar to stuff at 1:11 (1:55-2:05) ----------------------------------X ---5-4-0--0---5-4-2-7-5----------- ---4-4-2--2---4-4-2-4-4----------- -------------------------(repeat)- ---------------------------------- --2-2-2-2-0--2-2-2-2-0-0----------
Another portion (2:06-2:25) -----------------X -7-7-7-7--7-9-9-- -6-6-6-6--6-9-9-- ----------------- ----------------- -?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?- -------------X -9-9--7-5-7-- -9-9--6-4-6-- ------------- ------------- -?-?-?-?-?-?-
Variations continue of previously written segements
"...white wind blow" (2:45-2:49) -----7/9~---------X -9-5-------------- ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------
"I hold the line..." (2:55 and so on) -5-5--5-5-------5-5--5-5-4-4-2-------- --------3-----3---3--3-3-3-3-3------2- --------2---2-----2--2-2-2-2-2--0-2--- --------0-0-------0------------------- -------------------------------------- --------------------------------------
There is some roll towards the end that goes kinda like: -------|------------- -----2-|-----2------- -0-2---|---2---2h4--- -------|-2---------2- -------|------------- -------|-----?-------
It's not complete, but most of the parts are there ready for assembly. Any suggestions or additions are welcome. |

San Jacinto is in my top five Peter Gabriel songs. Up there with Mercy Street.
I'm following along with your tab and the song, so far sounds pretty good.
I also secretly hope that someday I'll hear a TR version of: "Here Comes the Flood".
And, lol, you ran out of "Steam", huh? Heh. |

Think of the sentences you could construct from the phrases/titles in TR and PG's songs. Example: I could "try a little harder" or tell you to "do it yourself," when I ran out of "steam," but I had you "come talk to me," and you reminded me "don't give up."
I'm starting to wonder if I've got too much TR and PG on the brain. |

I have pondered over the same question, is there too much TR and PG? The answer: No.
I wonder if Peter Gabriel knows that one of the greatest guitarists in the world (in my opinion) is doing these beautiful covers of his beautiful songs... |
