MY LATEST POST TO THE EMAIL LIST WITH MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE TR SHOW IN NEW HAMPSHIRE TO BENEFIT DENNIS KUCINICH:

Hello Everyone, TR sends his warmest regards and THANX for the
overwhelming response and positive feedback from his TouR with Dave &
Friends. TR says it was a hectic schedule but he ended up having a
great TIMe.

First let me apologize for the last minute nature of this
annoucement, but we were only made aware of the performance hours
ago. TR will be flying to New Hampshire in support of his candidate
for president, Dennis Kucinich. We just finished doing an outstanding
benefit for Dennis Kucinich in Austin,TX on Jan 3rd. We hope to make
this one even better than the last. The major difference is that this
will have TR headlining, performing a full 1 hour set. So for the
mere ticket price of $4, you can't beat it.

This is a benefit for Dennis Kucinich and if you aren't familiar, we
highly recommend you check out his website and see if he is a
candidate for you.

www.kucinich.us

TR would like to encourage as many folks as possible to show up for
the show and show support for Dennis. The more the better, and of
course, the more the merrier. Here is what TR had to say about Dennis
Kucinich:

"I believe Dennis Kucinich is the only clear voice for peace and
compassion in an otherwise hopeless, fake, made for TV political
arena.

"He is truly the embodiment of what a caring public servant can be, a
man of principal above politics".

http://www.kucinich.us/endorsements/endorsements/tim-reynolds.php

Hopefully some of you caught the Democratic Debates on the idiotbox

this evening and got to see Dennis speak, or should I say debate.
Everytime I hear him speak I feel there is hope for our WORLD.

Here is the info about the show in Durham, NH:

SUNDAY, JANUARY 25th 2004 4pm-midnite
Memorial Union
University of New Hampshire Campus
Granite State Room
Durham, New Hampshire

Tim Reynolds – headliner
$4 cover at door

Tim will go on stage right after Kucinich
Approx 9-10pm or 9:30-10:30pm

Hope alot of you in the NORTHEAST will be able to make it!! It may be
the only TR solo show in this area for quite a while.

OK first of all I cannot believe Kucinich's polls aren't higher. After hearing something he said last night before the new hampshire debate in a conversation on cspan, I did a litte investigating. This man has some really key ideas about running the country and esp in relationship to the environment and renewable energy. I wasn't swayed because of TR but an answer Kucinich gave in response to a question about the environment. (something none of the candidates talks about too much, let alone has specific plans for, with the exception of DK).

I'm paraphrasing and I don't remember the exact question but it had to do with oil interests in iraq and clean air laws.

Dennis said(passionately): Getting our troops out of Iraq is not the only problem involving Iraq. This country (U.S.) has GOT to start spending some of that money being wasted in Iraq on developing sources of renewable energy, including wind, solar, water, magnetics, biomass and other non-fossil fuel burning sources of energy and stop the desecration of the environment that oil, coal and nuclear are creating on our lands, trees, mountains and lakes. If we don't address this IMMEDIATELY, treasured places like the White mountains of New Hampshire and the ADIRONDACKS in upstate New York are in big trouble. This president has done more damage to the environment with the reduction in the clean air acts alone for the great people of this nation to SERIOULY consider a new leader.

Then he went on the talk about his plans for change. And I get the feeling he's not just spouting off with campaign promises because he actually has working plans on the situation(unlike many of the other candidates). And he obviously knows about the plights of the Adirondack Park with it's acid rain problems directly resulting from reductions in clean air rules for factories in the Ohio River Valley which is the BASE of the pollution/acid rain problems in the ADKs.

Highly Impressive!!!!!

Evergreen, I am so happy to see you back on the boards again, because you always post something worth reading.

I too am a supporter of Kucinich. While I will say TIM's link to his site did make me look into this candidtate, I am supporting him, not because of TIM, but because of his view on issues like the environment and Iraq. I too am surprised that more people aren't behind him, but I think its because they just don't know him and Dean and Kerry are more well known and have more money to campaign with.

I am glad TIM hasn't given up on Kucinich because he needs all the help he can get to have his voice heard.

Speak for yourself! No offense but you can't honestly speak for "most Americans". And HAPPILY, honesty in politics CAN work if people want it that way. Thanks to TR for being one of the people that wants it that way! TIMe to break the cycle of corruption don't you think!

3 cheers for the tree-hugging peace luv dove-ers.

Thanks Pam!! Internet connections are few and far between in my new job and I often get booted offline before I finish a post or reading them. I'll try to come around when I can. I hope your doing well.

I feel ya. I was listening to a Jack Black interview and they were talking about Arnold. And he was saying it's like this. I don't know anyone who watches nascar but they tell me it's huge and millions of people watch it. It's the same thing with politics. I don't know where all the people that vote for these guys come from.

People are just so indoctrinated it's really hard to make progress. To me it's simple to see though that Dennis is the man, but most people get there news now from latenight television so no one really knows who the guy is. That's by design though. Hopefully things will change with people working towards that i.e. you and me!

I think it's fairly accurate to say that for the most part American's are generally concerned about charisma and how well a candidate speaks. Look at: Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagen, JFK. And you only get the lesser charasmatic presidents when they go up against someone with even less charsima then themselves. Like George Bush.

I'm not saying it's right, but, it is what it is.

if most americans were concerned with energy, we wouldn't have these problems, or we'd already have soluations. the fact that we don't indicates that not enough people care. also, would someone like to tell what his views are on anything not enviorment related? i've been kind of inattentive as to what's he's been saying.

it would be great to break the cycle of corruption, but i don't see it happening. we're too entrenched in the current system.

"Morally, I simply do not believe that we as human beings have the right to “play God” and take a human life—especially since our human judgments are fallible and often wrong. " sounds like the same religious banter lefists blast dubya for.

seems alright on the war on drugs. bonus points for using "draconian" which i could have sworn was a dragonlance thing.

his position on guns seems ok. i'm a little confused about "department of peace"

and am i the only one who doesn't care about whether weed is legal or not?

and affirmative action is racism. period. no room for arguement. if you're admitting someone into a school on race, that's racism. there's no difference between that an not letting someone in based on race? what happened to getting in on merit alone?

Well think about why it would be illegal. It's not illegal because they want people who smoke weed to stop it, it's illegal because they don't want those who don't smoke it (little kids) to like weed. But I think having towns like Amsterdam wouldn't be bad at all :D

You guys don't care that thousands of people get felonies for possesion that isn't even an ounce. Then they lose their right to vote! First off weed should be totally decriminalized or just plain legalized. Sure you go after guys with large amounts but really why is it illeagal to hurt yourself. The big deal is that people smoke it either way and the current drug laws dont work.

Bob Marley said something along the lines of, "Devil make smoking weed illeagal beacause when me and my friends smoke it we feel the same ya know we connect with each other. that's why it's ileagal because they don't want people to think the same."

Now of course that's Bob' theory not mine but there is some truth in it. The big thing though to me is that you can't grow plants for hemp products. The thing is is that it takes 3 acres of trees to = the amont of paper you can make with 1 acre of hemp. It is a big issue.

Oh and dan my thing about the affirmitive action is that it's to counter all the institutional and subconcious racism in this country. It seems racist or counter racist but if you look at the black minority it's obvious that they aren't on average doing as well as others in this country. However this is more a thing for congress to decide since they have the overall power. I for one am for it though. To each his own though. Then about the death penalty I believe it was in new hampshire but I could be wrong that since they have started the death penalty they have killed 3 and pardoned 5. That to me says that we are killing inocents sometimes no way around it. I also don't believe in killing but that's just me. And the news will still be funny remember we would still have 2 other branches of government to make fun of.

I've got no qualms with the raising of hemp for cultivation.

Death Penalty:
From the facts, there has never been a documented account of an innocent person being put to death. Personally, I'm in favor of the death penalty, but I think the system needs to be changed and redone. There needs to be a better system of reviewing cases and evidence to make sure that someone is guilty.

But if a thirty year old person maliciously tortures and kills six people, I believe his actions deserve death.

That's just my opinion.

murder is illegal, but oh! that's illegal, too. let's legalize murder then. what kills me is that everyone who's for it being legalized will give me all these reasons about taxes and economy as if they cared about that at all. the bottom line they want it to be legal so they can smoke it more. for once, i'd just like someone to admit to me "i want weed legal so i can smoke more." enough bs.

You got it dan I want weed legal so I can smoke it without fear of having to go to jail and all that other stuff. As for smoking it more I don't know. I fluctuate from time to time on usage but I don't think legalization will greatly increase the amount of THC in my body. Except for the 1st couple weeks in which I will probably be celibrating by holding all day smokefests in front of the police station.

I know how you feel. Thye do deserve death, but I just don't believe it's our place to kill someone. Lock him up and all but to take someones life. Let's just put it this way I don't think we ever have the right to take someone elses life but that's just my opinion. Oh and about the whole not ever being proven that someone executed was not guilty. Doesn't it just say something that so many people on death row that have been found guilty have later been proved to be inoccent. I don't know but I say just make sure they're never able to do that again. I just don't like that we would kill them cause they killed. Just my opinion though.
