OK, well if all of the Rolling Stone editors and critics can write out a top 10 albums of 2003 list that noone cares about then so can I gosh darnit!!!!!! I'm quite sure I left out something I'm going to regret, but here is what I came up with (in no particular order)
Bela Fleck & the Flecktones: Little Worlds
Dave Matthews: Some Devil
Fleetwood Mac: Say You Will
Tim Reynolds: Chaos View
Massive Attack: 100th Window
King Crimson: The Power to Believe
Chris Whitley: Hotel Vast Horizon
Neil Young & Crazy Horse: Greendale
Rage Against the Machine: Live at the Olympic Auditorium
Johnny Cash: American IV

Good list Kevin. Have you heared The Deepest End by Gov't Mule? You should check it out. Its a 3 disc (1 of them is a DVD) of a show they played at the Sanger Theater in New Orleans. That is one of my years favorites. My dad went to the Sanger Theater when he was a kid. It was a movie theater, but the rennovated it and now they have concerts. The guest list of the concert goes on and on. It seems that Warren is welcoming another artist or 2 to the stage every song. Some are; Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten, Bernie Worrell, Dave Schools, Dirty Dozen BB, George Porter jr, Los Lobos. Tons of amazing musicians. Check it out. |

Kevin, much much much praise for including Greendale!!!!! Possibly my favorite CD release of the year, next to Jeff Lang's No Point Slowing Down, which I strongly recomend to everyone...Absolutely amazing guitar work over great lyrics...it's all live stuff from his last American tour...He's Australian, and I did NOT mean Johnny Lang. It's JEFF. http://www.jefflang.com.au/nopoint.htm I think there's some full songs you can hear...Not the best cuts on the album, but pretty good to start with. Also KJP's Slingshot Professionals deserves some merit, although it's not his best in my opinion. Still fantastic, wonderful songwriting and instrumentation. |

I wanted to say I too thought your list was great, but I would add one of my favorites of the year, Hail to the Thief by Radiohead! |
