I recently started seeing advertisements for Whale Rider, so I went to MovieFone to see what it was about. Since it was about a young Maori girl *and* I loved another Maori movie called "Once Were Warriors," I decided I had to see it.
I thought it was great! It was all about getting back to your roots and traditions, but also about being open minded and trying new things.
Thanks for the tip Teri, I checked and it is indeed playing in Irvine, and I also read a few reviews that were posted on Yahoo Movies all of which were good, so I will definately try to check it out.
