I wanted to start a new thread that was stemming from a conversation starting in this post: http://www.timreynolds.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3161

Basically, I'm thinking of a setlist of songs to play on the radio that have an anti-war/pro-peace theme... aside from the ones that have been mentioned (thanks guys... Billy Bragg and Bob Dylan were on my list) here are a few I can think of...

Rage Against the Machine: War with in a Breath
System of a Down: BOOM
Peter Gabriel: Games without Frontiers
Ryan Adams: Nuclear
TR: Eiher Donkey Bong or Indoctrinate
damn, I know there were a LOT more I had in mind, but I'm drawing a big fat blank at the moment... must be time for bed.. GOODNIGHT and feel free to list any songs you can think.

the energy blues ~circa~ schoolhouse rock might play somewhere in there. bizmarkee did it once, too if you can find that version.

Ahhh yes, Zimbabwe was indeed one of the songs I had in mind but couldnt remember. Heck there are tons of Bob Marley songs that could be used. Thanks for the input so far, and KEEP EM COMING!

Oh ya, another Marley peace song is "One Love", and an anti-war one is "Buffolo Soldier". Sorry for the multiple posts I just keep coming up with more Marley songs. Don't be supprised if I think of more.

Thanks Fluffy, I'm printing that out right now so I can bring it to work with me... I'm working with my coworker Sarah who is helping me with my list, so I'm sure that she will appreciate the read as well, even though it will probably get her all riled up as I am now. I had forgotten about that post 9-11 ban which was such bullshit. Wasn't TR one of the first to play Imagine? Anyways, thanks for the link!

lots of people couldn't. this is because they're paying too much attention to the message, not the music. i glean from your short post that you agree with his messages. if you didn't agree with his leftist views, you'd agree with my assesment of his music. for some reason, people can't seem to do both. probably because they feel that they have to stick by someone who shares their views, no matter if the artist is talented. bob dylan is an excellent songwriter. his lyrics are very good. his musical abilities are neither.
