And i was influenced by that walk to write this poem...

Molly

Through the windows barely cracked, molly sits upon her chair
She shuffles trinkets on her lap and runs her fingers through her hair
She thinks in silent pondering about her trials and tribulations
While her mind, it starts meandering through other facinations

Like her brother sitting silent staring down upon the ants
Taking notes on social structure, their basic can and cants
"Ants dont need social commentary", molly says with breathless sigh
"theyre mindless, controled by instincts, unlike you and I"

Her brothers concentration breaks to only look aside
And stare intently as if he went to study Mollys eyes
He knew deep in his heart of hearts Molly didnt understand
But he just let off a simple smile while the ants crawled off his hand

Her thoughts did pass and her gaze met the windows on the wall
To which she though it was a mirical that they were there at all
She always thought the window cracks resembled webs of spiders
And like the lace of arachnoid friends, she felt it meant that they were fighters

The light refracts through splintered glass the moonlit sea of stars
She always felt so insignificant looking so afar
Then she walked the creaky floors as if to play a song
The untuned melody to mirror her crying all along

There by her bed she knelt and prayed up to her God on high
And listened through her broken window and out into the sky
She listened for the answers to the crying of her heart
And there beside her knelt a man who gave her quite a start

"I am the father up on high, the holy ghost and spirit
I am within each man and woman and give to each their merit
But that to which you know of me is far from all at best
To you I wish to put your troubles finaly to rest.

I am not the God you think, you dont pray to me in church
And for each moment on their knees, my heart of hearts does lurch
For if man has one creator, he wouldnt aim to sin us
And we would go to him directly, for he would be within us

Think if you will my thoughts this way, maybe then you'll know
For each product you as man obtain there is a price to show
You therefor need a middle man between you and your prize
A thought that may be necessary, but that most men despise

Advance the concept up a step unto a godly level
Invent the concept of God and Heaven, Hell and then the Devil
Let your middle man be Christ and your plan comes to frutation
Now you are the head of the religious corporation

Everybodys prayers and thoughts through middle men now go
And there they keep a grasp on what the common man can know
And noone dares to question what they say comes after death
As though you have a market on the common persons breath

Which leads the way for lack of thought or social commentary
Though the corporate heads and churches tell you quite the contrary"
Molly, stuned and lost for breath, imeadiatly understood
That she couldnt see the things she now knew her brother could

"Do you wish me to continue? I know this seems too much too soon..."
Molly strained to move a nod, as if she froze in a cocoon
All this time, and was she wrong? Her life devoid existance
And though she strained to absorb it all, it flashed in just and instant

"So you see..." the man continued, as though he for the first time spoke
"We look upon that which is higher through means that which are broke
Within each human, plant, or animal, lies impecable merit
Though through our prayer to those unseen we give to others credit

We each have strength beyond perception, though through superficial focus
The common "mirical" gets debunked as religious hokus pocus
Here within our heart of hearts we have the strength to heal
We, more than god, can bring true love, that which we must reveal

Our true Lord lies deep in our soul, and to that we need to nurish
Pray to health from just within, pray that your heart will flurish
Your soul, to all the engery around is but a mirror
You reflect that which you give, and that needs no Forgiver"

And with that her vision cleared and there he was no more
Molly stayed a static statue knelt upon her bedroom floor
And though her soul would now be bright and lifted, she did weap
And with the last breath of the night, "Now I lay me down to sleep..."

Wow, Erich, this is powerful stuff! I looked at the pictures and thought they were really good....you show a great deal of talent, you're definitely an artist with the lens. Then the poem. Don't know if I am just more tuned in to a more spiritual mind set at 1:30 in the morning or what, but the poem just blew my mind. All I can say is wow!!!

That was fantastic Erich. I usually have a general distaste for poetry but I THOROUGHLY enjoyed that. Wonderful job!

Wow, those pictures are amazing, and the poem is also. I always see the prettiest stuff in the mornings when I get off work but I never have my camera with me. Those pictures inspire me to start taking my camera everywhere I go now. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Erich, unbelievely stuff!! Both pictures and THE POEM(something that good should be capitalized). I really liked pictures 3 and 4. BEAUTIFUL!! THE POEM, well the poem is FANTASTIC!! That may be some of the best poetry I have ever read. I am not usually a huge poetry buff, but I have my poetic distractions. I wish I could put words together like that. I thought I knew you but....WOW!! Now I am even more impressed by you than I was before. Keep up the great work.

PS, just have to ask, is Miracle misspelled on purpose, for some reason, or dramatic effect? Just curious, I noticed you spelled it wrong on 2 occasions but spelled it wrong identically both TIMes.

Peace & Keep the Faith
