I just picked up a copy and i'm pretty impressed with it overall. The new lyrics and sax/violin/bass pieces througout the cd are awesome. Grey Street, You never know (which could easily be the best DMB song ever) Captain, Raven, and Big Eyed Fish really shine on this CD. The rest is all right. Like Grace is Gone is faster, and a little heavier on the drums compared to it's Lillywhite counterpart. I really didnt think Kit Kat Jam was actually going to be a jam session on the cd, i miss it's lyrics. And it's packed with special features and a DVD. I got mine at Best Buy, and it's only $10 for the first day. If anyone see's it for that price, grab it. Easily worth the small price. Just wondering what everyone else thinks about it.

I got my copy of Busted Stuff for $9.84 at Wal-Mart. I think it is going to be that cheap until the 21st or something. I love Grace is Gone and of course Grey Street is great...I am impressed...I like what they've done to the songs since Lillywhite...it sounds like the old DMB is back.

Yeah, it's awesome, but I remember somebody on Nancies.org () saying how the beginning sounds like porn music, ha!

I'm still not sure about Busted Stuff yet. There are many songs I like, but there is still something missing. It doesn't rock as much as I like. And Silky I'm sorry to say I don't care for the song Captain, but that has to do with personal issues. It's a shame how some music can make us feel bad. This really is Stefan's best work on the bass. He is developing a unique style. Carter is truly at the peak of his career. Dave is Dave....

I love this CD...it's almost like a gift to the fans that wanted the Lillywhite Sessions released.

On a side note, one thing I DON'T like about Busted Stuff...
Reading the liner notes I see a Special Thanks given out fucking Glen Ballard...shouldn't they be thanking Steve Lillywhite instead? I mean, I just compared this CD to the Lillywhite mp3's I have and the songs are about 95% the same (NO COMPLAINTS!).
The only "special thanks" the devil, I mean Glen Ballard, should get is "Hey asshole, thanks for NOT putting your greasy fingers on this CD in any way. Thanks for letting us be who we are."

Busted Stuff is awsome, simple as that. I was surprised with the cover, I thought it was going to be ugly when I saw it on the internet, but it's cool as hell, the way they did everything is pretty creative. My favorite song on there has to be "You Never Know" or "Raven,"(love the new lyrics) but I can't believe they didn't put JTR on it, that's a great song.
"Cuz everyday should be a good day to die..." Went crazy when they played that song at the concert.

Hey Xar666, thanks for that free download. My favorite part is when Dave sings, "so I step, left to, left to right, whatever helps me fly my kite."

They changed the lyrics in Big Eyed Fish very little, but they did switch around the order of the verses. Just like in concert, I love the transition from Big Eyed Fish to Bartender. All and all, it's a good CD, but not worth buying. Grey Street is a great step up from the Lillywhite Sessions version, I think, just because it's "produced" more. Captain takes getting used to, but it's awesome. I don't like what they did to Grace Is Gone, they made the background fillers more bright and cheery sounding, unlike the more fitting and somber fillers in the Lillywhite Sessions version. It's a sad song, keep it sounding sad. Raven rocks. Kit Kat Jam's good. I don't like Where Are You Going. You Never Know's great. Busted Stuff was surprisingly good, because I've never really enjoyed that song till now. Diggin A Ditch is great too. Just wish they'd kept Sweet Up and Down, round it out to 12 tracks. But my favorite part of the whole CD is definitely the Big Eyed Fish --> Bartender.
But still, it's not the "new" Dave I was hoping for. Its like seeing an old friend, not getting a new one. I wouldn't buy it, but that free DVD is starting to tip me the other way.

JTR I can't agree with you more. BEF is good into Bartender. I'm a little disappointed in the album. I like it but there is something missing. The album doesn't rock like pre-Everyday. There is a little more jazz, but it's a tease. Even Dave isn't himself at the shows. I think he's burning out to be very honest. I've kept a close ear and the SIGNS are there........

i love busted stuff!!! my fav. part is the very end of busted stuff they start jammin' out in some jazz soundin' way, and it's soo perfect and new!! that really caught my eye. i like the slide guitar on grace is gone, but i really dont' like how they made it more uptempo. it was my ultimate sad song, and they sped it up. the transition from big eyed fish into bartender is really good too. overall this cd kicks major ass!! i love it!! only thing that could be better is guest musicians like most their other albums, but still it's cool nontheless! what else has that producer produced?(confusin' soundin')

Thats true, and BTCS was great (I think) 'cuase of the extra fillers and jams in between the tracks. I really like the jam with Bela Fleck on his banjo after "The Stone"

One of my favorite CD's is the Warehouse 5 I got from joining the Warehouse. It's truly one of the best. Tim, Bela, Jeff Coffin, etc. are guests. The best live jamming anyone could ask for.
The Hershey show was very good, the best one I've seen this tour. Good set list, the weather was great, and my 9 year old had the best birthday ever! We were in the 6th row center! She was so cute, Dave looked at her and she said, "Mommy! Dave made eye contact with me!" It was a good group of people around us that were very nice to her and wishing her a happy birthday. My 13 year old son was with my most excellent friend Glen in another section. Glen said Daniel had a blast singing and dancing during the show. I wish Dave danced during the show like he use to. Emily would have really enjoyed that.

That doesn't matter!!! It's 5 songs and it over 60 minutes. Classic DMB style........but I'm sure they could have made the CD over 70 min. if he was there.

You know, thats very true. It's closer to how they were before the Ballard incident (AKA Everyday), but it's still not the What Would You Say, Warehouse, and Two Step DMB we used to know. I all but swore off DMB when Everyday came out, and Busted Stuff is actually the first time I've listened to them since about a week after Everyday came out. Raven is good, as is Kit Kat Jam, hinting at "classic" dmb. But there is something that they used to have, that is just gone. Can't put my finger on it either.
I could have sworn that the topic: Busted Stuff Is Pretty Good.... was going to be followed by "For me to poop on!!"

I love Dave, and I love the CD. But then again, without a few minor details I like all the DMB albums. I mean honestly, There is something i dont like about each one as well, but overall i like about everything he's put out. I think the version of "what you are" on The Space Between single is one of the best songs i've heard, along with "So much to Say" and of course the whole Luther Album goes without saying that i like all of it.

i like the way bartender ends.... I like you never know, dig the messing w/ time sigs in that song, had me pissed till i figured it out. but its a good cd. i was angry at it (the cd) when i first listened cuz i like lillywhite so much, but then i rationalized to myself that its just a recording of a song they have played live alot, and it isnt set in stone jsut cuz they recorded it this way, they can play it different live. think of two step, they have changed that alot from studio to live. if that makes sence..... anyway, its a good cd.

I figured out whats wrong... The album sounds empty, like there isn't enough "stuff" going on. I dunno, it's taken me months to nail this vague discription down. Bartender should sound much, I dunno, "fuller"... |

thats indeed the production. Harris was going for the stripped live feel, so compared to the fullness of BTCS, youre totaly right, its pretty stripped |
