Yeah, I saw Tim play the night before he came into my guitar shop the next day. But I didnt even play guitar at that point, I am a drummer and have been my whole life, I have never desired to play anything else, until I saw him play. We could all spend countless hours trying to describe how amazing his playing ability is, and its amazing indeed. Here's the catch...I am sold out to someone far greater than music, His name is Jesus Christ. I play in worship settings all the time, and when I saw Tim play, it was so obvious that God had directly gifted him with the desire to play guitar. Whether or not he knows that, I am not sure. I dont he even believes in God, but ever since I met him, I have been praying he would understand to true purpose of life and accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior from his sin. When I saw he was coming into my store... it was too late. I had beenplaying my bootleg recording of the concert that I recorded on my minidisc recorder through the P.A. system I had setup and I felt quite emmbarrased, but he didnt even notice it was him playing when he came in, I had to point that out to him, LOL. His road crew and friends were really nice people and I talked to the guys for a bit and they bought some strings and picks and Tim asked if I sold and Line-6 gear. I didnt even know what that was at that time. I kinda laughed cause I watched what he did the night before and only guessed at what kind of stuff he was using, but I think he understood, since he was in Laramie, WY. God bless

I agree with you Kevin. I think at this point in Tim's life he has probably figured where he stands religiously on his own. Let's take the missionary somewhere else.

I believe in God, I believe in UFOs, I belive in ghosts, I believe that John Edward is the real deal...but I don't really like having any beliefs shoved down my throat. If I'm going to believe something, I'm going to belive it on my own. I had never believed in God...then one day something happened that made me start....thats all, I didn't need someone telling me I HAD to start beleiving in him...I just did.
If anything, people telling you that you NEED to do this and you NEED to do that...just makes you not want to do it that much more doesn't it??

I agree with Guitarguy. But I also agree with myself that it takes a good amount of courage to come here like enochstrade and say something like that. Courage or huge stones, one. Not sure which.
Either way, I think enochstrade wasn't particularly pushy, he just said what he was doing, which is praying for Tim to "understand the true purpose of life and accept Jesus Christ..."
And it was a good story, to meet Tim and the Crew like that.
Now I'm just rambling. Sorry.

I suppose we all have the freedom of choice: "Hail Satan" and "His name is Jesus Christ". But no one should be persecuted either way. Speaking of Jesus Christ, he just happens to be hip to the freedom of choice gig. I don't think any force-feeding was taking place here.
This is a "discussion board" after all (not to mention a "General" one).

you people are assholes! so what if he mentions god, he has the right too.He wasn't cramming down your throats! Americans need to spend less time bitching about prayer in public places and talking about god in public. stop acting like your so important and individual that you need to have everyone notice you dislike the discussion of god.

boyblue, we didnt call him an asshole, so you have no reason to call us assholes. We're glad he likes tim, but the stuff about tim needing to see that jesus is whatever is preachy and alittle much. He has that right, and we have the right to tell him how we feel, so lay off, mkay?

Well said, Erich. I don't understand you Blueboy. No one hear outright insulted Enochstrade. We only diasagreed of him convincing Tim that his skill with the guitar was a gift from Jesus <--LOL. You, however, are directly insulting us, wouldn't that make you an asshole? Freedom of speech is not one-sided sir.

Dude I'm a christian and absolutely agree with enochstrade. God gave Tim the gift of music and I thank God for that. Tim has influenced me more than anyone else musically. What he believes is what he believes but God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the truth. No matter what you guys and Tim believe the They are the truth. I tip my hat to enochstrade you are a true christian for saying and believing what you did. I'll be praying for you guys and Tim that you might find God because there is nothing better than Him. Nothing.
God Bless you all, Andy

Andy86, what you believe is fine. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I do not beleive it to be the truth. I have no ill will toward you or your beliefs. However, that is all it is, a belief. No matter how much you say it is the truth, it is still an opinion. Look up the definiton of FAITH. No human can say they know the absolute truth because no human does. The terrorists who destroyed the WTC were a radical group of Muslims who believed what they did was right and true for their cause. However, it does not make it the truth or right. This can be argued forever because no one really knows, except maybe the dead. We must all respect each others beliefs and principles concerning religion, poltics.. etc. That is what America is all about. We just didn't appreciate the preaching aspect of his post.
Peace

"Speaking of Jesus Christ, he just happens to be hip to the freedom of choice gig."
"Yeah, the Native Americans were sure given the freedom of choice."
Jesus Christ was never in America. I was writing about the freedom of choosing whether or not to believe in God. I am of the persuasion, though, that Jesus would not have been brandishing a rifle and hunting down Native Americans had he been alive during the settlement of the "New World". I don't remember that part of his message from Sunday school.
(This is the part of my post which you can discard.)
But then, I suppose that takes us to interpretation. "An eye for an eye" (even though that was the law in the Old Testament) could be interpreted as "get the Native Americans out", if you believed in Manifest Destiny, which I don't think you would have because the term was not invented until later in history.
(Don't discard this; I like this part)
In the words of Mel Gibson who was acting as William Wallace (although I have seen no documentation of this quote actually being real), FREEDOM!

Stop talking about religion please this is a Tim Reynolds message board, not a WWJD message board, so please start talking about Tim or anything affiliated with Tim, not religion, its a neverending dispute that need not be discussed and disputed here where everyone should be friends with eachother.

Yes, Xaar66 everyone has there opinion and beliefs, but that doesn't change the truth. there is only one truth and that is the Bible and the Holy Trinity. The terrorist did what they thought was truth and what was right, but that doesn't change what is truth. I can believe that if I jumped of the Empire State Building I could land on feet and walk away just like nothing happened, but thats not true. I would be killed as soon as I hit the ground. Thats what i'm saying. There is more proof that Jesus died, was buried and rose again then that Julius Ceaser ever lived! Nothing can contridict what the Bible says. All evidence that has been found has just agreed with the Bible 100%. This is not why I believe christianity, this is just how I defend it.

I'm with Fat Jimmy. This thread is going nowhere. It's all opinion, and the opinions aren't about to change so there isn't much use arguing about it. Andy, and all the other Christians, I absolutely respect that you believe what you do. I have no problem with that at all. Some of us on the board don't believe in it though and are about as likely to start believing in a god as you would be becoming a satanist. That's just how it is and how it's going to be. I respect GuitarGuy305. I don't believe what he does but he understands that it's not something you cram down people's throats and expect them to be content with it. Enochstrade might not have meant his post to sound like a sermon, but that's certainly how it came across. No one blasted him for doing it, only stated that it might not have been the best thing for him to do, and rightfully so. Just as enochstrade has a right to his opinion, so do we. I don't think we have to talk about Tim exclusively, but the whole purpose of this message board is to bring us together. All this petty bickering is just dividing us. We have different beliefs and I say we should just leave it at that.
Peace, Patrick

Alright I'll shut up, but not because you wore me down but because this isn't a place to do this. You guys are right this is a message board about Tim. I'm sorry that I said all I did. I didn't mean to go off like that. I was just trying to defend enochstrade. Sorry.
