TR Task Force in da houz! That was a wonderful surprise. Hopefully they will all expand upon my review as they are much better suited to such things. After last nites lengthy review I am gonna keep this one a bit shorter and rely on the reviews of others to tell the tale.

I will set the stage though. The crowd was a bit smaller than we normally have in Lancaster but still respectable. I do think that it helped to make the show a more listener-friendly show. The audience seemed really into the performance and cheered at all the right TIMes with very few exceptions. Prolly the best crowd we have had there from that perspective. Jack Dillman opened for us again and it's always a pleasure to see him when we are thru Lancaster. He is "good people". He warmed up the audience for TR quite nicely. He performed a rousing set to the assembled throngs. I really didn't know girls could scream THAT loud. LOL After Jack and a short break the audience were treated to what I would call a unique set of song choices by TR. When I say unusual I mean when compared to what TR has been playing in his sets of late. Very unusual from my perspective at least. Although it seems like this run as been an example of extremely different sets nite after nite. Usually I on a TouR after a couple of nights I feel like I can predict most of what TR will play but on this run he seems to be changing it up even more than usual nite to nite. I feel very lucky to see so many great songs in such a short period of TIMe. Here is the setlist as printed:

Space Dog
Electric Banana Phone
Babylon(Fallen Fallen Fallen)
Betrayal
You Are My Sanity
This Is The One
Loose OR 666
Mid-Death Crisis
-----------------------------------
As Far As We Can See
Flourescence
Coco
Do It Yourself
Death Squad TV
-----------------------------------
Squirrel Nuts
Drop A Portishead-Freestyle
To The Next
Smells So Sweet
Call If An Erection Lasts For More Than Four Hours or Six Months
------------------------------------
Hands Full OR Levee(Old Bones Rollin?)
Doom
Ocean
-------------------------------------
All You Need
Plastic Surgery Modulation

Sooooo, Stream was in there somewhere, obviously not listed on the setlist. He did play 666 but I don't think he did Loose Ent. Drop A Portishead-Freestyle was a Portishead riff that TR just jammed on. When I asked him about it after the set he mentioned it was a song he wanted to learn but hasn't yet so he just decided to jam on the riff that he likes so much. Sadly toward the end of the set I got really busy so I missed the very end of the set, so with not much certainty I will say he played Hands Full and Doom but I don't remember Ocean. He may have played it but if he did I missed it. I think he played Hold On instead even though it wasn't listed. I know the encore was All You Need Is Love. I don't think Levee was played either. I am sure the TR Task Force can make better sense out of the end of the set for ya. They should be posting reviews very soon. hint, hint(hehe)

It seemed like a great nite all the way around except for me getting behind and having to rush around like a madman at the end of the set. My own fault, no one to blame but myself. LOL As I mentioned before the audience seemed like they really dug the show and were quite appreciative at all the right places. Of course my perspective may be a little skewed after last nites ballyhoo. LOL Thanx to Jack for sharing the stage with us tonite and THANX to Greg, Eben and the rest of the staff at The Chameleon for treating us so well and having us back TIMe and TIMe again. Always a pleasure.

Well, let me first start by saying it was the greatest honor to open up for Tim...After the first time last year, with such a loud, maybe a bit obnoxious crowd, i was nervous to say the least. I played a good set, and after passing out some merchandise and sorts, I got a good spot to see TR's show. He came out of the gates with so much energy, I knew the night was gonna be good. I was standing next to a younger TR fan...and when I say a TR fan, he was 15 years old, got in with his mom, and knew more about TR than I would have expected. He was for real. This was his first TR show, and I wanted to see the look on his face when Tim started playing. Needless to say, he got blown away! It was awesome to see his face. Okay, now for the show: TR unloaded this ridiculous version of Space Dog right away, and it was incredible. As a guitar player myself, watching TR do what he does just blows my mind. I can never figure out what it is that goes through his head to come up with that method and style of playing, but i love it so much. After completely tearing that song up, and getting the crowd pumped up...he did what any other great musician would do. He pulled a banana out of his pocket, and started talking on it like a phone. Obviously, he was gonna play Electric Banana Phone which i had never heard before...so I was amused and really liked that song. His guitar playing on that for some reason reminded me of Primus...don't know why, but it was cool. A few songs later, Tim played my personal favorite song "You are my Sanity." I play this song at work a lot, to just relax and it brings me back to my happy place when i hear it. So all through out, this was probably the best TR show I've ever seen, and definately out of the two, the best i've ever played too. TR, Fluffy, and Tim were a true joy to see again, and I appreciate your kindness, your honesty, and the opportunity to share the stage. TR signed my limited edition poster, which is being custom framed as we speak, and will make a nice story piece in my home. Thanks to all who also listened to my set, and hopefully enjoyed it. Take care all, and be safe in your ventures.

Thanks for the comments - I should change my name to The Aphex Dude.

Spidergirl should be this board's resident hottie.

Radiohead is fucking amazing, hopefully their new album reflects the years of hard work they're putting into it. www.radiohead.com/deadairspace

In Limbo may be my favorite song, I'm weird like that.

HAHA, the Aphex dude. I was admiring that T-shirt, been listening to RDJ since around 1994. I was to your right with the other two heads with TR Task Force shirts on. Nice Radiohead reference, BTW. In Limbo is greatly underappreciated by most fans.

I was standing right next/behind you the whole show. I'm not going to lie, your daughter is gorgeous. I'm sure she hears that all the time.

I was hoping Tim would see my Aphex Twin shirt and play Come To Daddy like last time he was at the Chameleon. Scorcher of a show, Tim was on fire as usual. I wish the crowd was larger, but it made it even more special to see him in an intimate setting.

Well, I'll start by saying this was my favorite Tim show yet (I've been to 10-12 now I think ). After getting moderately lost on the way to Amishland, we wound up having a great dinner at a sweet place called...shit, I forget, but it was nice, and we got the kitchen right before it closed...banging crabcakes! Anyway, got to the venue just as the opener was finishing, and got in this time!

Tim began with a slow and sexy slide/delay jam followed by a wild ring-mod explosion. Then proceded to say he was so happy to see us all, and pulled a banana out of his pocket and put it to his ear to talk to the mothership and his spaced out delay ran. Hilarious. I was dying. Babylon, Betrayal, then an early YAMS with a absolutely spectacular solo, I asked Tim about it afterwards, and he said he had "never taken it there before.) I believe him.

Now, This Is the One Tim introduced as a sad, fast song. This was the funniest thing I have ever heard. My face hurt from laughing, the guitar riff is kinda like Plateau with a different beat, with an insane-O jazz-a-rific solo, but Tim just had the greatest face on while he performed it. Bambi Eyes is the only way I can describe it. Loved it. 666 was very, very good and left the audience kinda stunned. (Side note, great crowd. Not too huge, but so respectful, except for during YAMS, the bastards.)

Back to back NW tracks followed, As Far As We Can See and Valley of Flowers, followed by Coco, another new song which I absolutely love, this one actually reminds me of Matthews stuff actually, dunno why. Stream, and my first listen of Death Squad TV, Tim is really doing it for me with these new songs, great stuff.

Shit, gotta run. Thanks to the guys again. And thanks to Fluffy again for remembering the posters for us.

Sidenote: Tim said he played See Into Your Soul once live. It kills me.
