Although not as well attended as our last stop in Lubbock, the smaller audience made up for it with there raucous enthusiasm. The even got TR to come out for a second encore with a "one more song" chant. The sound was absolutely awesome, may be one of the best sounding bar atmosphere venues for sound. TR's guitars and vox sounded wicked in the room LIVE. Highlights for tonight was wicked version of Stream(yes, I said Stream) with and improv'd intro and numerous variations including another Led Zep "Friends" teaser although not as lengthy as last nites version. I have to say, from my own perception, TR seems to be rediscovering Stream in a whole new way. I could be wrong, maybe he is just mixing it up so it's not so boring for him. Who knows, either way, recent versions have been absolutely mindblowing. Again, the slide improv was breathtaking. I didn't know TR could get so down and bluesy. Don't get me wrong, he has his moments of blues genius but these slide improvs have had a wicked blues intensity. TR has started listening to some old John Lee Hooker CD's that he remembered from his youth. In fact, we listened to one of them a few TIMes on this run. TR says he has been rediscovering some blues. I guess we might start to see it's influence a bit more. That can't be a bad thang. hehe Ancestors is still knocking my sox off every nite. So you know, he is still doing the both parts but he only lists it on the setlists as Ancestors whereas before he was listing it as Pt 1 and Pt 2. There seemed to be so many highlights for me tonite it is hard to remember them all. He did very unique takes on almost everything tonite. TR was on fire tonite, I think the crowd really got him going again tonite. It seemed like his fingers were moving faster than I had ever seen them move. He added some amazing improv to alot of the songs we all know and love. I really wish we were able to get this show recorded. Unfortunately, the soundman records the shows to his laptop and there wasn't enuf harddrive space to record tonites performance. One of our messagebored folks was in attendance and got some pics. Hopefully she will be able to post them here for all to see. The setlist:

Forgot to mention one of the major high points of my day, I was driving from San Antonio to Lubbock today and there is a stretch of road in southern TX where the posted speed limit is 80 mph. Yes, that's right EIGHTY!!! Whoohoo! When will the rest of the country get in on that?

James and I took our last venture to Lubbock on Saturday night to see Tim Reynolds again. What a great way to wrap up the tour here at Cannon. Although it was a smaller crowd than April's performance, Tim was awesome! He came out in shorts and a t-shirt, his typical black K-Swiss tennies, and cracked jokes about a Hershey's candy bar, that of which he eventually gave to fan later on in the evening. He was awesomely energetic and enthusiastic about his performance...he seemed as though no one could keep him down! His fingers danced along the fretboard as he played some of my personal favorites....I must mention Stream! Wow!!!! Although the chick beside me wouldn't shut up and kept trying to get Tim's attention, James and I continued to jam. About half way through the night, I saw whom I believed to be "Fluffy," Tim's tour dude. I went over and introduced myself, offered him a beer and asked if we could chat after the show. Fluff turned out to be a real nice guy and even let me take a picture with Tim....of course I felt like a damn Sasquatch standing next to him, but I always feel that way. :) So, in short, EXCELLENT SHOW!!!! Tim is worth the drive if you need to road trip to see him, if he comes to your area, you'd be a fool not to catch the show!

Pics will soon follow Fluffy....need to get to Albuquerque first and hook the camera up to the computer! :)

Peace, love and rock-n-roll!!

I was at the show last night at Jake's and it was pretty wicked! I had a blast at the concert and I could tell everyone else was having a blast too. I recorded videos of "Stream/You don't know" and "all you need" on my camera and got good pictures too. Had a great time and another good show by Tim!

Now that seems hard to imagine, I believe you, just hard to imagine.

Very cool about Ancestors. "Indoctinuts" LOL

Dito on wishing this show was recorded.
