Posted - 05/01/2006 : 03:08:06 AM So, I don't have a setlist or pictures yet, but this was by far the greatest TR concert I have ever, ever seen. This was the last show with Marcus and of this little run and it showed in TR and Marcus' playing. First of all Marcus was great as usual and played an hour that flew by like it was only ten minutes, unfortunately! He's such a fantastic musician and human, I know he will go onto amazing things.
TR's set was two hours long and every minute was amazing. The crowd warmed up during Marcus, and I tried to get people to clap hard at the really awesome jamming parts so as to energize ME and TR, which I think worked. TR was kind of quiet to begin with, but opened up as the set began. From my rough memory songs (in no order) include: Indoctrinate, Betrayal, Big Sky Country, Time Has Told Me, Arroyo, Che, Vantage Point, Hidden Variables (?) Synthesize, Stream->You don't Know, Kundalini, Revolution, Whole Lotta Love, and Hold On I'm Coming. The amazing, amazing surprises and highlights for yours truly:
-I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) (Genesis Cover) without singing, he played it instrumentally
-Of These, Hope (Peter Gabriel cover) -> Jam
-Dreaming -> Red Rain (Peter Gabriel, instrumental, played it for about two minutes)
That's right! The show had all the new cover songs, plus a Genesis and two PG covers! I was freaking out. Robin, you were so right about TR's version of Big Sky Country, it was one of the most beautiful things I have seen, very poignant.
Other highlights, the amazing solidness of Che tonight. I don't think he missed a single note during the pull off sections. Stream was top notch, and the best version I have seen. He really jammed it, which I really loved. Tim Has Told Me was perfect. The new acoustic songs have gotten so strong and solid, I hope that they will be recorded soon. Sterling (SSFH) recorded video, and Fluffy told me it was being recorded at the sound board end as well. To quote Fluffy about the night: "It was magic." and honestly, it truly was. I walk away each time feeling more and more enamoured with TR's music and prowress.
Rheginos/Norwegian closed out the encore and was jammed amazingly by ME and TR. From the 22nd show to tonight, it has gotten so tight and well jammed. If the two continued to play like that, the results would be pure dynamite.
Anyways, that's all I have in me right now. Thank you Tim, Thank you Marcus, Thank you Fluffy, Thank you Rew. Safe travels, and I'll count down the days until the next time. PS: Fluffy, we need to get a picture together!!! |

Posted - 06/20/2006 : 12:49:44 PM Hey John, for future's sake, Hold On, I'm Comin' is better attributed to Sam & Dave than Boney M. Just thought you might want to change that before it gets distributed to much. THANX, otherwise looks GRRRREAT(as tony the tiger would say!) |

awesome, would love to see some because it would help me make a menu for the dvds.
i have quite a few dvds up my sleeve for everyone, just waiting on some audio. I dont expect anything until the tour is over and people have time to get audio up on archive. but there are some damn good gems coming out. i know jared has a few as well. |

Posted - 05/01/2006 : 1:49:12 PM It's Dead wasn't played. Neither was On the Beam (unless it's a new form).
I forgot to mention: The audience couldn't have been better. We almost made it the whole way through without a shout of "Timmy" but one guy pulled it out towards the end. Still, only one was impressive. The audience was quiet and respectful, and energetic when things were really rocking.
