Posted - 03/04/2006 : 10:28:18 AM Hey TRers...well, Tim outdid himself last night. He was in really great spirits and humor, as the crowd last night was the most respectful of the 3 I've been in so far. Tim was greeted with a warm welcome then almost total quiet! It was great, after the delay storm, we were treated to a ripping Jemez Rolling Waves...followed by...Che, Hopeful Heresy, Betrayal, Indoctrinate, Dreaming, High in the West (for Hunter S, I presume) Stream, You Don't Know, Don't Know What, 'Hold On, I'm Comin', Come to Daddy, Jeepster, When the Levee Breaks..etc.
Once again, we were able to talk with Tim after the show, there weren't too many stragglers last night, and Tim and crew left immediately after we did. Tim was bushed from an awesome performance. He was in RARE form, you guys are gonna love to see this one with your own eyes.
SpaceMonkey, where art thou? I taped left of center again, and we'll be getting soundboard audio soon!
Thanks to everyone at Mexicali for being respectful of Tim last night. Sorry for the short review, but I can't really describe how good this show was.

Posted - 06/02/2006 : 11:37:11 AM First....Kudos on the show reviews having their own section.
I saw this show. not terrific at written reviews esp when i was so blown.... and speechless. I would describe Tim as rocket fuel for the musical mind. and much like pure grade heroin (from what I've heard)or orgasms...instantly addictive. cool to read established Tim Reynolds fans thought it was one of the best. also cool to read the names of the songs of which i knew none at the show, except some of the cover stuff. Such strange and bizarre titles they are almost as entertaining as the songs themselves. wished i'd have known i could have chatted Tim up after the show and had a body part signed, preferrably with a red sharpie.
Dear Booking Agent, please send Tim somewhere/anywhere near NY. sincerely, Maraika |
