Posted - 09/17/2004 : 4:27:10 PM I don't know if anyone else on the board got to see this show but my was it awesome (as if any of them aren't). They did have a video camera record, and there were two guys snapshotting the setlist afterwards who said they were gonna get it on DVD. I hope at least. Anyway, I was kinda tipsy so I don't remember all of the songs, but here's a few: Hopeful Heresy, Loose Interpretations, Buffalo Soldier, All You Need Is Love, Try A Little Harder, Indoctrinate, Kundalini Bonfire, And Then They Were Free, Hornet's Nest, Decline in Reason, Mercy Street, uh, that's all I can muster right now. An awesome concert, and I got to shake his hand after he signed my guitar after the show. It still amazes that the most virtuosic guitar player or our time and maybe ever doesn't get near the respect he deserves. Until that day, it's nice to see him in a small club with a crowd of about 75-100, I sat on the floor about 5 feet from the stage. If anyone can fill out that setlist, post it! |

check the forum titled "Respect Tim...Don't Be An Asshole"
that malarkey annoyed the shit out of me as well, and yes, unfortunately, those girls probably had no idea how stupid they looked photographing the impromptu "my boyfriend likes dave" act...
i enjoyed my night and had i said something to them, who knows what would've gone down, so rather than cause a problem, i chose to acknowledge it and make sure that people know how absolutely awful it was to watch and hear that so that they never think of consciously or unconsciously stigmatizing themselves as "those guys".

Posted - 09/20/2004 : 4:23:49 PM Hey everybody; long time no post...Erich are you OK? Can't believe you would miss a show in NJ. This is the official setlist verbatim...some jackoff walked off with mine *sigh*

I know Do It Yourself and Ten Years Down were played as well. This was the first complete show I videotaped (just right of center stage, directly in front of the stage). There was another guy videotaping directly in front of the soundboard and his buddy got the sbd patch. This show will definitely make an appearance in audio and (mixed) video form.
Fluffy sends his regards to you all; he asked that I post that his computer has crashed and he is unreachable via the super highway of information. I'm sure he will post soon. He also mentioned that this was the best setlist/performance of the tour to date.
In regards to The Bastard Sons of the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Experience: their horrid renditions of Grey Street and So Damn Lucky (the only songs that are still, regrettably, embedded in the core of my being) following TR's torrid electric encore have only added further evidence to the age-old theory that people can make complete jackasses of themselves and be totally unaware of the fact. I'm sure anyone there would tell you same. These guys had some major leauge hard-ons for DAVE. It was sickeneing. And to top it off, it appears their cover-act-struck girlfriends were able to capture the entire impromptu (or was it?) performance on video. My condolences to any and all who may be forced to watch this video at some point in the forseeable future. May God have mercy on your soul!
Nice meeting all you normal people that night, it sure made up for those two!
